my take - the quantitative tightening we are witnessing, while much needed, is also unsustainable. powell will get his ear pulled whenever dc gets too uncomfortable with the rising rates on their debt. should see another brief rally when the fed gets the orders to stop raising rates... but after all this happens it will ultimately trigger another even larger crash.
if you're a game of thrones fan just replace winter with recession and you'll get the idea. just have to prepare for it. [Reply]

Maybe I'm in the depths of gloom as I put off my retirement after my hand was on the doorknob, but this one feels like it's going to be on the long side. It seems like there are more reasons for it to be happening. [Reply]

I think I agree that this could be a long term challenge. UK had negative GDP, EU is fighting bond issues.
If allowed entry, I think our series I bonds might win Hogs stock competition. :-)
Not that it's helping a few of my stocks that have been obliterated like PYPL & SE [Reply]

Heh, yeah. Did you buy the I bonds on my recommendation, or did you have them before that? That was the smartest thing I've done this year. I really wish I could buy more.
I had a little bit of SE and sold it a few months ago at about $90, so that was a good move. It was a bad move to buy it in the first place, though, since my average buy price was around $240. I'm still riding PYPL down to the darkest depths of hades. [Reply]
