He wanted to boost Udoka's confidence. Instead, he boosted OU's. [Reply]

The guys that are little shits and flail around get way more calls than guys like LeBron that get hammered ALL the time. Refs respond to flailing, not contact. [Reply]
Bill Self lost the game. KU outplayed OU in that game.
With the exception of the play from 55 seconds to 25 seconds left in the game, I thought Graham played well. He just didn't shoot well. I thought he played hard, but just shot poorly.
While he did defend relatively well (was screwed on a couple Trae Young drive calls), can anyone tell me why Graham was STILL guarding Young with FOUR FOULS the last 4 minutes of the game? How is he supposed to be aggressive and guard him with four fouls? I would rather have Garrett on him to disrupt him with his length, yet still having as good of lateral quickness as Graham. [Reply]

Hmmm, sounds like a good test subject to see how he responds to propellers. [Reply]

WTF was Self thinking? Cost us the game. Horrible stubbornness to leave him in there.
Go back and look at this thread from last game, we talked about having to pull Doke at the end of games because they would foul him and give up possessions. Self had to see this coming if we did.
Self had better not repeat this BS again. He just gave away a road win. [Reply]

We are still up in the conference. It could come back to bite us, but there's plenty of time left.
the Star says the reason we lost was that last possession where Graham didn't switch. That was one possession. Self gave away 5 possessions with his boneheaded decision.
He not only screwed his team but now Doke has to be completely mind fucked on free throws.
Leave it up to Doke? A player is never going to take themselves out of the game.
From the Star:
Azubuike was not made available to reporters, but after what turned out to be his last miss at the free-throw line, he walked toward the end of the bench before being grabbed and encouraged by teammates.
Self used much of the timeout to talk directly to Azubuike. After the game, Self would say he asked Azubuike if he wanted to stay in. It’s unclear exactly when that was, but the answer was affirmative. [Reply]
