Nzoner's Game Room>****Official Golf Thread****
'Hamas' Jenkins 10:08 PM 02-07-2015
The original Bushwood thread is overflowing like Craig Stadler's FUPA.

Use this thread to discuss tournaments, swing thoughts, equipment, and golf deals.

I thought we could also use the OP to create a WITB for ChiefsPlanet members. I'll list a poster's name and put their sticks in a spoiler tag, so you can see what everyone is carrying.

Hey, how is your back holding up?

Have you been able to play?

Kinda funny that he's shot 58 and 59 and not won either tournament.

It's ok as long as I'm not sitting down for an extended period of time. Deadlifts are ok, but plastic chairs are not.

I haven't really had time. I've started hitting the gym to lose weight (although I'm really just losing inches at this point, which is fine). I manage to get to the range 3-4 times per week.

Overall, I feel like my swing is closer to where I've wanted it to be in a long time, but it's still a touch off. I've stopped playing with a shut face, which is a big, big adjustment, and I've been employing more wrist hinge in my swing, but I still have issues with getting the club stuck behind me.

I can work the ball both ways with much greater ease, but turning my shoulders level to my spine is still tough.

I need to head your way sometime to get a round in with you.

Being a Phil fan, I guess I'm sensitive to chokes in general.

It would be much smarter for me to head in your direction. All of the courses here are either private or clay farms.

I'd be curious as to what you've done drill-wise to help with the shut face.

I had a Trackman fitting before I played Erin Hills and I'm coming from WAY inside AND playing with a shut face. Playing a 12* M1 clocked down to 10* to open the face. Band aid, but I've been driving the ball great recently - including at EH.

My big miss is a huge hook, but I can usually control it to a 10 yard draw.

Nothing Bubba-like. Unless I miss. :-)

With the M1, I'm down to a tight draw or a double-cross block on occasion.

Drill:

And try to synchronize that with arm lift. Letting my hands turn over has made me a lot more accurate.

I'll call Kim Anderson to see if he can get us on OH as guests.

Before I used to play with a lot of float loading, which is hugely dependent upon timing and completely worthless with any partial wedge shot.

Speaking of the PGA champ, it's probably my 2nd fav major right now. I like to see them able to shoot good scores and make birdies and I always like the courses they play.

Just to update on my golf, I've got my semifinal match tomorrow for our club championship. Won my first round match 4 and 3, guy I beat was struggling a bit. I imagine it'll be a lot different tomorrow, as the guy I've got was a 4 year collegiate player at South Carolina. SHould be fun.

That will play.

The m series stuff is really hot. I got my ball speed up to 180 with the m2. Crazy long.

I tend to struggle with taking it outside and getting too steep coming in, which tends to make it tough to control. I really worked hard this spring to get more shallow into the ball and it's really paid off. The best thing I did was build my own plane board. I've got the measurements of anyone is interested.
