Dok 81 (highest in the 15 years of ratings for any KU player)
Desousa 83
McCormick 86
Enaruna 87
Garrett 88
Dotson 88
Braun 89
Abaji 91
Moss 95. (Even this dude is 5% better def than the avg player)
The prior record for us (again since 2005) was Withey 2012, 83. So our frontline guys are on average all Jeff Witheys. Dok is #1 in the country by this metric.
If Dotson comes back, we are going to be really good again next year. Our perimeter is going to be loaded. [Reply]
Someone started an all decade Chiefs team. I’m going to take a stab at my All Decade Jayhawks Team. 5 Starters, 7 Bench Players, and 1 Head Coach. For consistency, let’s say the 2010-2011 (so no Sherron or Aldrich) team is the first team you can choose from and this year is the last. I’m basing mine on the best players and not the best total careers.
Head Coach: Bill Self (really going out on a limb there)
Starters:
1-Frank Mason
2-Devonte Graham
3-Josh Jackson
4-Thomas Robinson
5-Joel Embiid

From my eye test, Braun and Moss don't look like better than average. Are they really that good or do awesome defensive teammates make you get a better /100 ranking.
Dok has really improved but I would have thought Embiid to be better. [Reply]

That's awesome stuff. Finally get to dive fully into basketball season. [Reply]

Guess I didn't understand what I was watching, knew the defense was damn good, but that's crazy.
The efficiency numbers are relative to the current field I believe, so they’re probably not actually the best defense since 02, but still high. Definitely the best this year. [Reply]

It’s crazy how Self’s seniors always seem to make a sudden huge leap in skill. [Reply]

I think Doke playing better in the middle has made it a lot easier for these other guys to defend.
There are a lot more steals for instance because there is more confidence that they won't just score if they don't get the steal. [Reply]

Braun causes me the biggest disconnect between numbers and my eyes. I kept wondering why Self was playing him big min, but the advanced stats def love him. Outside his eruption in Stoolwater I haven’t seen him do much. Maybe he does all his damage when I’m looking down at my phone or getting up to grab a beer [Reply]
Pissed I missed the game a rape virginia...my youtube tv didnt record the game for some odd reason. I really wanted to see KU stuff the musket up the mountianeers ass. [Reply]

They really just eased it in with some lube. They were so gentle that Bob didn't even complain about the officials.

At 58-49, that was a 'just the tip, just for a second' situation... [Reply]
