We have fallen to the 4th best team in KU history per SRS. Depending on what we do here out we still have a shot to end as the best, although 2008 is a long shot to surpass.
Also, Bill fired his longtime personal attorney and replaced him with a firm out of NYC. You can bookmark this post and call me out if it’s disproved, but it won’t be. [Reply]

What is the relevance of this? Do you think it has something to do with the NCAA violations? [Reply]

We have our differences, but PB is right. My source confirms this. [Reply]

It’d be swell if KU could win it all to make it tougher for the NCAA. They hate stripping titles. [Reply]

He was probably still whining about the refs. :-) [Reply]

I listened to his press conference today and he actually didn't mention the refs (for once). Talked about how inexperienced his guys were and about how they seemed to have forgotten everything they worked on in practice. [Reply]

I'd say it has more to do with the fact that KU is the highest rated defensive team in Kenpom history.
I guess I thought this was total bullshit so I went and checked the site and holy shit, currently at 83.4 and nobody has ever finished the season below that mark since his stats going back to 2002.
Guess I didn't understand what I was watching, knew the defense was damn good, but that's crazy. [Reply]

Yes it is impressive but I bet you would fine 10 to 20 teams perhaps that have had adj defensive efficiency as good as ours this year, but just fell off at the end of the year. [Reply]

Here’s what’s even crazier: EVERYONE on the team is an excellent defender. In the points allowed/100 possessions, here’s our team, anything under 100 being good:
Dok 81 (highest in the 15 years of ratings for any KU player)
Desousa 83
McCormick 86
Enaruna 87
Garrett 88
Dotson 88
Braun 89
Abaji 91
Moss 95. (Even this dude is 5% better def than the avg player)
The prior record for us (again since 2005) was Withey 2012, 83. So our frontline guys are on average all Jeff Witheys. Dok is #1 in the country by this metric. [Reply]
