That’s the thing I come back to. Jocketty had his faults, but he would have moved Adams and Wacha after 2013 when their value was sky high. He wouldn’t have held on to Alex Reyes so relentlessly.
Mozeliak’s prospect hoarding - and his belief that his guys are right about a guy being better than the consensus scouting opinion on him - is a big flaw.
Wacha was always a two-pitch righty with no feel for spin. That was always going to limit him. Instead of accepting it and selling after his over-his-head debut, they believed they’d fix him and got burned. [Reply]

And if Mo trades Carlson for some jack**** like Hunter Strickland, I'll garrote him with the umbilical cord of Brebbia's child.
At this point he is better off doing nothing to really upgrade. He could start selling off some pieces like whatever he can get for Fowler or even Ozuna. Let Bader, O'Neill, and Thomas play everyday in the outfield, let Edman play third and keep Wong at second. Go for youth and defense the rest of the year since we can't seem to hit consistently anyway and see what you get out of your pitching without Fowler and Martinez letting routine fly balls drop in front of them.
Keep Carpenter on the DL for whatever reason they can think of (torn labia) and let him play chess with Cecil for the rest of the year. Damn that extension, just incredibly stupid even for Mo standards. [Reply]
