Media Center>Conspiracy, the Paranormal, the Unexplained and the Esoteric
keg in kc 05:43 PM 01-17-2015
Figure this would have a better chance of surviving in the Media Center than on the main page, and I'll be adding youtube and podcast links from time to time as I come across them, so it fits.

This has been something that's interested me from a very young age, all aspects of mysterious stuff, whether we're talking forgotten or forbidden archeology or civilization (Atlantis, pre-colombian exploration of america, etc), unexplained events (like Tunguska in 1908, the lost Roanoke Island colony, etc), paranormal events like ghosts, the study of ESP and that sort of thing, conspiracy (ranging from JFK to stuff like the perpetration of the drug war and the infilitration of the media by US intelligence) and, of course, UFOs (which to me means "unexplained" not "extraterrestrial" but that's a whole other topic).

Anything could show up, and everybody should feel free to add whatever they like. Just try to keep it as civil and respectful as possible. This is not intended to be a DC thread; it's as much for entertainment purposes as it is to solve all the world's mysteries.

**Although if anybody posts anything from Third Phase of Moon they should probably expect me to kick them in the balls.**

Few things I like to watch or listen to in no particular order (most of this can be found on itunes as well...):

The Paracast
Binall of America
The Gralian Report
The Paranormal Report
Dark City
Radio Misterioso
Open Minds (mostly their podcast)

That's it for now, just wanted to get this started. Been thinking about doing it for a while...

Regarding the time travel possibility, that seems simple because we think of earth as a fixed point. It's not. We're in constant motion, not just in our solar system but in the universe itself. So a visitor from the future would need to do a lot more than just flip a switch and watch the years roll back. Basically it's taking the kind of difficulties we see with spatial travel from point a to point b over incredible distances and compounding it with temporal calculations.

I'm not suggesting it wouldn't be possible. What I am suggesting is that it may be no less complicated than traveling between star systems.

There is a reason I didn't mention traveling at the speed of light and specifically mentioned another possibility that should not be dismissed. Outside of suspended animation or something like that traveling at the speed of light probably isn't the best option.

keg in kc 03:23 PM 01-23-2015
I missed that question originally.

I don't believe in the Illuminati and I don't think Jewish bankers are notably different from any other bankers but I do think everything is controlled, or manipulated, or however you want to phrase it.

There's a lot of evidence that (and I hate to use this term...) the mainstream media in the United States is no longer a free press, but has essentially become a wing of various national intelligence agencies. Doesn't matter what slant you think you're getting, if it's CBS or FOX or MSNBC or even PBS, you're getting spoon fed stuff by some intermix of the CIA and NSA. Which makes us like pretty much everywhere else in the world. It's hard to find actual "news" now.

I also believe this country stopped being a democratic republic sometime in the latter half of the 19th century, and that (another wonky term...) the military industrial complex has been running things since at least the end of WW2. I think we're essentially a plutocracy now, although there's also perhaps some semblance of a royal line in the white house. It's amazing just how interconnected these various presidential families have been, despite how unrelated they appear to be on the surface.

As far as the federal government as a whole goes (like we can really talk about it like it's a single entity, which is a problem with the so-called Disclosure Movement, but I degress) I don't think everyday people mean a thing to anybody in Washington anymore. They don't live the same kind of lives that we do, and I don't think they relate or understand or even care to do either with regards to the kind of lives that average American people lead, or the kinds of things that regular people need, or even the constitutional rights that regular people should have. I think the only interest the government has at this point, at least at the national level, is staying in power, keeping things essentially the way they are and maintaining/increasing their personal fortunes. It's all about incestuous corporate growth.

I also don't think there's a meaningful difference between the two primary political parties, and I think the entire "left/right" paradigm/narrative is a circus put on to keep people both divided and entertained. This ties in with my earlier comments about media and intelligence.

I also think there's a group of (ugh, another word I hate to use) elites who exist at the both the highest levels of our government and above it. These are the guys who literally own about half the planet. And I think it's entirely possible that they organize everything that goes on in an international sense, and that to a large degree national borders have no real relevance or meaning. I think we're now on the verge of what are basically transnational corporations running the entire planet, along the lines of what Kim Stanley Robinson described in Red Mars.

But, at the same time, maybe it's always been like that. Because I just don't believe a whole lot of what I read in vanilla history books. As the saying goes, it's all written by the victors. And they don't generally want themselves to look shady.

And yes, I know just how crazy and paranoid all of this sounds.

The problem with this is only 400 years (give or take) we thought it was impossible to circle the globe. Going from Europe to the Americas was a months long and life threatening journey.

Now we've got probes landing on Mars and running around.

In no more than 500 years.

In time we will learn to conquer space as we have the land, sea, and air.

The rules of physics didn't change - only our understanding of it...

That opens up a whole 'nother topic: the possibility that Columbus had maps referencing North America and was knowingly traveling here, rather than looking for a route to the far east as the story goes. In any case, I think it's pretty much a foregone conclusion at this point that he didn't "discover" the Americas. A number of different people likely made it here, both from Europe and from Asia, and they may have actively traded materials from this continent (namely copper and tobacco) all around the world. Hell, there's even increasing evidence that very ancient peoples (read: before christ) traveled here, and were capable of circumnavigating the globe.

Not to dispute your larger point about scientific understanding changing over time, of course. I agree with you...

At the time of the world famous "Phoenix Lights" sighting, Fife Symington was the Governor of Arizona and put on a famous press conference shortly after to make light of the whole incident and its witnesses.

Yet a decade or so later, he came out and admitted the truth... that he witnessed a craft nearly as big as Phoenix itself fly over the city. Now I fully believe that this nation has been back engineering alien craft since the late 40's and have working models at this point. But something that large, that nearly covered the entire city?

No nope nuh-uh... they havent gotten that far with it yet, no way.

I listened to a really whacked-out podcast about the Columbine massacre this morning. According to the guy, whose name I don't even remember right now, it was organized by a federal agent, actually started on April 19th, devolved into a hostage crisis, and all of it was a sacrifice to Lucifer.

I actually started to think there was something to it, meaning the federal connection and the paper trail he's supposedly uncovered, until he started with the Luciferian agenda stuff, and how the military is all filled with Luciferians fronting as christian groups, particularly the Air Force.

Then it was kind of like...wha?

Sounds like someone thats read too much and is mixing everything together into one ugly thing... in short, maybe a well spoken nut.

But if you spend enough time reading up on the Luciferian agenda, it suddenly looks like its not so crazy... there are some extremely well heeled and influential Luciferian groups out there with access to the highest levels of world government.

Take the Lucis Trust for example, look at this explanation... for several sentences it takes pains to distance itself from the name, yet about halfway down they come clean about it in that they "seek to elicit a deeper understanding of the sacrifice made by Lucifer".

http://www.lucistrust.org/en/arcane_...ing_of_lucifer

Now, this is a group that until recently had an office at the UN headquarters in NY and they are still a major player behind the scenes player in world politics, anyone that wants to scoff should just start googling and taking away from it that which is clearly irrefutable.

This guy here, he goes off into some realms I'm not sure of yet still makes some pretty clear connections... its really all about being inquisitive enough to research stuff like this for oneself (not preaching to you, keg), look around and take out what speaks to you and spit out that which doesnt ring true.

I'm aware of the belief of Lucifer as light-bringer and know a bit (but not much) about Blavatsky and Theosophy. This guy, however, was referring to Lucifer in the traditional satanic, Christian sense of the word. Although at the same time he had an extreme loathing for evangelical Christian churches, which he believed were actually satanic in nature. It was....odd. To say the least.

Anyway I'm going to avoid religion as much as possible in this thread. I don't want it to devolve into a DC thread with sniping between believers and non-believers of any particular religious creed, whether eastern or western or anything in between. Religion is just one of those areas where people seem incapable of having productive discussions. At least in my experience.

I will leave it at this, with all due respect to our three known Masons/Shriners... only one of whom is known to be religious, I will present this Shriner, probably caught off guard after a few drinks, but still... its a pretty damn creepy defense he puts up.

I mean, lets face facts... anyone that says they believe in the Bible shouldnt be going around proclaiming the king of the fallen angels as "virtuous and wholesome".
