If you sign a player that rejects a QO, you also lose some of your bonus pool money, $500K if under the tax, $1 million if over. You can also now trade for up to 75% of your bonus pool money, so in theory a team like the Cardinals could end up with around $11 million in bonus pool money if they made the right deals (might be a good way for a savvy team to rebuild given how much value minor league prospects hold now).
