This organization is a joke.
People got all pissed off in November 2017 when I said the Royals would lose a 100 games, then I doubled down on that prediction in March of 2018, with more people telling me how "stupid" I am about baseball.
Yeah, not so much.
And while I realize that projecting high school and college kids in the Majors is far more difficult than the other sports leagues, if John Sherman doesn't fire everyone this offseason, be prepared for more of the same for the next half decade. [Reply]
By my research, the Royals are the first team in MLB history to have more than 80 strikeouts and fewer than 20 walks at the 10-game mark. Note that I said 80 strikeouts. Royals have 94. That’s how amazing their SO/K numbers are this season.
Among teams in either group (fewer than 20 BB or more than 80 K), the Royals’ 5.88-to-1 K/BB ratio is easily the highest ever. Next highest is the 2013 Astros at 4.70-to-1.
The whole striking out & homering alot thing only works well when your guys ALSO walk and get on base. So when they run into one of those homers it actually counts for something. [Reply]
MLB and the MLBPA have agreed to changes to the operations manual. Starting tomorrow, staff and players must wear face coverings over their nose/mouth at all times and in all places in the stadium except for players on the field. This includes the dugout and bullpen. Everywhere.
Teams must reduce their traveling parties to only personnel who are absolutely essential to playing games. All staff and players must wear face coverings at all times in hotels in the road except for when alone in their rooms.
Good news is we're basically on national TV tomorrow night!
The other good news is after this series we have to play like 10 games against the Twins the next couple weeks. We could legit make a run at 5-20 or something like that the way we're playing. [Reply]

I picked them to go 17-43 in the prediction thread and it appears that I was overly optimistic [Reply]
