Because of all the interest in this thread, I've place all of the video content of Patrick Mahomes II's college career, and draft day goodness into a single post that can be found here. Enjoy! [Reply]
As far as a nickname, I could see Magic Mahomes or The Magician or something like that. I seem to remember seeing 3 or 4 scouts/scouting reports that called him a magician with the way he can make plays happen. [Reply]

A lot of people bring up Russell Wilson and Aaron Rodgers, but man I see a lot of Matt Stafford in Mahomes, probably bc of their similar build, athleticism and arm strength.
I can see a lot of bombs like this being made by Pat. Stafford ripped this ball 60 yards for a TD with insane velocity :-)

Definitly a good comparison IMO but the thing is, Stafford puts up great stats but has lost more than he has won in his career. A bit like Kirk Cousins I guess.
One could argue that it is due to his supporting cast but the point still stands. [Reply]

Although Stafford and Mahomes have similar skillsets, each situation is different. The Lions fail because they've typically had sub par defenses and their lack of a consistent running game during Stafford's tenure. Mahomes won't have the running game issues, and hopefully not the defensive issues either. [Reply]
