WRs are taking one year deals to go back into FA next year when the cap is larger.
You’re banking on being the #3/4 target to get those targets. It doesn’t make sense to do that on a one year deal. It’s sucks but it’s what’s happening.
Our only hope right now is a guy like Hilton who’d want a ring over a larger deal next year or just drafting WRs and hoping they succeed year one. [Reply]

Trent Williams wasn’t signing with anyone but the 49ers.
He should have offered Juju guaranteed money instead of the $3mil in incentives. [Reply]
Interesting #Chiefs nugget from Peter King this morning:
1. "Hudson wanted to be released, not traded. And if he’d been released, I’m pretty sure he’d have been snapping to Patrick Mahomes this year. KC was ready to pay Hudson more than Arizona did." #ChiefsKingdom

They haven't. They've offered the opportunity to make more money but juju could have came here and got injured game 1 and got the same amount he's getting in Pittsburgh. We all know guaranteed money is what runs the NFL. We should have offered $10mil without the incentives. [Reply]
Reynolds is going to replace Corey Davis who got 92 targets last year. Sammy if he played the whole year would have had 88. 90 in 14 games the year before. I really don't think it's a matter of lack of targets. Reynolds as a full time starter would get 90-100 here. [Reply]

So then why did he choose the Titans over the Chiefs? [Reply]
Damn, 4 "close but no cigars" in Hudson (trade), Williams, Reynolds, and Juju.
Has to be a frustrating FA for Veach. He has said repeatedly that one of our best assets in FA is being able to offer the ability to play for Reid and with Mahomes. I still think that's true, but just a series of bad beats with injuries and a funky cap year causing non-normal approaches to contract wants/needs. Hell, even Tyreek turned down a restructure.

We’ve lost three players.
Trent Williams - He wasn’t coming here.
Juju - offered the same as the Steelers plus incentives. He apparently wanted continuity and didn’t think he’d be meeting those incentives.
The only one that doesn’t make sense to me is Reynolds. We don’t know what was offered or what he got though. [Reply]
