Really good JAMA article on the need for randomized controlled trials of these compassionate use meds for Covid-19
Read this earlier today and echo your comments, especially regarding placebo.

Banning the export of the drug isn't proof of anything other than being precautionary.

I wasn't aware being poor was a lifestyle choice.

In a sense, yes, but I agree there is significant overlap.

There is evidence of link to poverty, which can be a driver of lifestyle.

My point was to make a distinction between people choosing not to make changes, and people with significant barriers to making lifestyle changes.

For instance, is inability to afford insulin a lifestyle issue? Compare this to people choosing to not regularly use their insulin

Interesting conversation, but admittedly off topic.

We have heard reports that people are being stopped by police and asked for paperwork to determine whether their business being out is essential. KCPD officers should NOT be doing this. If this happens to you, call 911 immediately.

That would be great but honestly it looks a little better than that.

I think we’re going to see some effect of this migrating around the nation (and world) a bit as it finds locations that don’t have as strict lockdowns but the longer term trend is certainly headed in a positive direction.

I’m hopeful that outside of NY we may have given a lot of these big cities time to ramp up enough to keep the death rates from a lack of ventilators from spiking. That’s the real difference between turning into Italy or not.

He keeps refuting every dishonest, mean-spirited, divisive narrative from America's ravenous political media, but they'll keep trying to pit him against Trump... and you.
