They do preorders for weekend pickup, and start selling at 7:00 PM. They typically sell out at 7:01 PM (or earlier).
Alma Mader is within walking distance of Boulevard but like BKS, has been closed during the pandemic. They really like to focus on lagers, pilsners, and "crispy" beers :-) But they make outstanding hazy IPA's and have been pumping those out to stay afloat since they are in such high demand.
I went to BKS before the pandemic, knew they were coded, didn’t realize they were doing to go orders. I live about a half mile from Crane so go there quite a bit. Diametric is pretty good too. [Reply]

Agreed. Torn Label is expanding their taproom soon. That was my only complaint about them - they were tiny. Big Rip is my favorite in the Northland. [Reply]

Josh brews great beer.
Have you ever tried the Biscuit at Emperial? [Reply]

Do they distribute around KC (in non pandemic times) or just the brewery? I didn't see a 'find our beer' thing on their website, so I assume not. [Reply]

Nope. Not at all. Can’t even get them on tap anywhere. That might change soon as they’ve recently expanded, but it will be awhile. [Reply]

I had forgotten all about this particular threads but wanted to bump this post to say that City Barrel's Rad AF ended up winning a bronze medal at the last Great American Beer Fest in the Hazy IPA category. That category had 375 entries and to get a medal in a stacked field like that is pretty crazy!
The memories of brewing this stuff in the old office upstairs before the brewery was built out flood my brain and make me proud and happy for my buddies and their success as they take over Bier Station's old space to open another City Barrel location down in Waldo. [Reply]
