Multiple reasons:
1) we won’t have the $ to re-sign him after this year.
2) his value right now is high
3) we are trying to make a trade for an all pro CB and want to hold on to draft picks, if possible.
Look. I don’t want to see DeMarcus Robinson go, but getting Hill back and Mahomes operating on the highest level any QB in history ever has means we can trade him and not miss a beat on offense while utilizing his value to bolster the defense while keeping draft picks that can help the team in the future.
