More trade news: The #Chiefs are deep in talks with the #49ers on a trade for star pass-rusher Dee Ford, sources say. Things have escalated and this could get done by the end of the night. Ford needs to work out a new contract with SF, which is a big piece of this.
Well, a large contingent of you wanted the Chiefs to rescind Ford's franchise tag and flat out release him, so as long as we can pick up a 7th, this should be an improvement. [Reply]
I’m fine with the 3rd and the cap savings. 16 mil. off the books for a guy we weren’t keeping past this season anyway. And the #3 will be at the top of the 3rd round to go along with our 2 seconds at the back of that round. Gives us a lot of flexibility in the draft on Day 2.
What worries me is Dee Ford + something (being alluded to) for that 3rd round pick. I mean, WTF, we’re already trading them one of the best pass rushers in the NFL w/o demanding a first or second?
We better not get raped on this shit. If we’re giving them anything plus Ford, it better be only a 6th round pick or something like that. [Reply]
As someone who hasn't wanted to trade Ford, if all we get back is a 3rd and we have to throw something extra in, then I'm back on the fire Veach bandwagon [Reply]
