And even before Mahomes, it wasn't a matter of Reid putting on the brakes, but rather the offense just fizzling out under A.Smith.
Sorry, Alex Smith had his issues but, I’m not one of those who lays all of the blame at his feet. Reid’s play calling has gone conservative many times with leads, it has been bitched about many times on this very board.
The defense last year didn’t give him many opportunities to go conservative. We do not yet know if Mahomes will change Reid’s tendency in this regard or not. [Reply]
Reid always goes conservative with a big lead. Why give tape on the playbook? Chiefs lost a few games because of that with Smith, Mahomes doesn't take the 5 yard check down on 3rd and 8. He keeps playing. [Reply]
When they highlight this team's Super Bowl run and we look back at the NFL Films coverage in 25 years, it will seem odd to watch the day LeSean McCoy stepped up as a Chief and cemented his role in the Chiefs Kingdom legacy and kids will be amazed that it happened on a baseball field. [Reply]

So you are saying I should activate Shady this week on my fantasy team? :-) [Reply]
Raiders are now down their best safety and their best corner.
Raiders Rookie Safety Johnathan Abram tore his Rotator cuff and Labrum in the first quarter of last night’s game. He will have surgery this week...likely ending his season, per source.
