More trade news: The #Chiefs are deep in talks with the #49ers on a trade for star pass-rusher Dee Ford, sources say. Things have escalated and this could get done by the end of the night. Ford needs to work out a new contract with SF, which is a big piece of this.

Here is another stawman...
... but judging by the intellect I'm dealing with here... I'm surprised it's not all ad hominem... [Reply]

the 2019 draft has not yet happened, plus, I'm guessing that KC is going to win 10+ games in the 2019/20 season, pushing the value of the pick even lower. But, whatever... [Reply]

If he gets hurt AGAIN you have to replace his production anyway and you’ve got $16M less to do it with. KC is currently in a championship window. Don’t understand the logic of depending on players that have never proven dependable. [Reply]

Which by the way is looking worse and worse with every signing. We're paying Mathieu more per year than Earl Thomas is getting from the Ravens.
It’s not a bargain at all if he doesn’t repeat 2018. Something he’s actually never come close to doing. [Reply]

What in the actual fuck are you talking about? You can't put a 'temporal tax' on the upcoming draft. Is it your position that had we traded for a 2019 2nd rounder it would be worth a 3rd because the draft hasn't happened yet?
That's....dumb.
And what does KC's record have to do with anything?
You are making zero sense. This was a middling return because a 3rd round pick is 'meh' for a premier pass-rusher. But you can't just say 'well it's actually a 4th because 2020 is next season and 2019 hasn't happened yet'...Because that's dumb.
