Nzoner's Game Room>Let's talk about the 49ers (Super Bowl Edition)
TLO 07:03 PM 01-19-2020
Well Chiefs vs Packers is what I had hoped for, but that's not happening.

Let's talk about Chiefs vs 49ers here.

That is the thing, I am not cherry-picking games- the Chiefs did this.

After the embarrassing Titan loss when we handed them the win- this team has turned it around. It is pretty easy to see the arc of this team, from the low point against the Titans to where they are now. It is an undeniable pattern showing what this team is now.

Let's not forget the field conditions the Chiefs had to play in during this winning streak, including a long trip to Mexico. This team is truly battle-tested. Anyone calling us a "finesse" team has not been paying attention.

Seattle did a nice job defensively in both of their games against the 49ers. Limited them to 24 points in a Niners loss, and 26 points in a Niners win. They really contained the rushing attack in the first game especially and kept them under 100 yards. If Pete Carroll would let Russell Wilson throw the ball more, Seahawks might've taken that last game in Seattle.

And remarkable that you "don't care" yet you came over to our board to allegedly engage us on our football takes only to then ignore them when they don't fit your chosen narrative.

Cool.
Sorry chief I don’t have a narrative. There’s been too many injuries to both of these teams to really take those stats seriously.

I’m a fan of Kermit. I really really think he’s great QB. Chiefs will won this game. 20th time I’ve said it.

This is a low key important factor in the game — ticket sites are saying that the sales are about even between Chiefs and 49ers fans: https://nypost.com/2020/01/20/super-...-skyrocketing/

Meanwhile, Vivid Seats has so far sold tickets at an average cost of $5,471, according to Stephen Spiewak, a spokesperson for the company. The current get-in price at Vivid Seats is $4,342. Spiewak said the Chiefs’ Super Bowl drought is “driving intense demand.
This could be the difference in a team having to use a silent snap count or not.

They won’t base their game plan around these, but I’m sure they consider it.

Great post!!! 100% agree.

Nice to meet you Smith

Any 49ers fan that knows their team, knows that mobile QBs give them a lot of trouble. One of the main reasons is because their secondary is highly overrated and is very dependent on their pass rush. Scheme your blocking to get Mahomes into open space where he has the option to run or pass on every play and guys will be open all over the field. It's just a matter of execution at that point. Having a guy like Hill that can take the top off the defense will give them fits.

Also, I see Kelce being a weapon in this game too. The 49ers do not face up against elite TEs in their division. Or, they may over-scheme to account for Kelce and leave Hill & Watkins open.

Anyway, the key is to get Mahomes in space. Get their down linemen to chase him all day long and wear them down.

Those divisional games are tough. I for one was ecstatic that the packers beat the hawks. That would’ve been a tougher Matchup.

Also, funny how everyone here says that if it wasn’t for that stop at the goal line the hawks would’ve been 2-0 vs us. No one mentions that WE would be 2-0 if our kicker (a rookie backup) makes it in OT. We would’ve been 2-0 vs them.

What nobody seems to be talking about is how that rookie kicker made three MONEY field goals in regulation, including one to tie the game and send it to OT in the first place.

That being said, I think the 49ers would have won the rubber match easily. Seattle and SF went in opposite directions in terms of player health since that last match up. Probably would have given a better fight than the Packers though.

Hey Chief's fans,
49er fan here, looking to engage in some friendly banter. Congrats on making it to the Super Bowl, I think this is going to be a great match up. Obviously I think we will win and here are some takes on us and some questions from you:

- Everyone thinks Jimmy is mediocre, and if you do, you are simply relying on big talking pundits based out to the east coast who don't have knowledge depth. He is poised, confident, and with Shanny calling the plays can do some serious damage with the schemes they have. But yes, I do give the QB edge to you.

- We have had good experience playing similar qb's to Maholmes that will prepare us well for this game, Wilson (X2), Murray (X2), and Lamar, for a 3-2 record. I see Maholmes the most like Wilson, who has caused us fits regularly.

- Our motion to zone blocking and how your D reacts will dictate how the first half goes.

- Mad respect for coming back from 24 down to win by 20. I would not anticipate us to go up that much in the SB but if we get up by two scores in the third we have grown significantly in game clock management and that could make a big difference.

Ok so I come in peace. Damn some of you. CHIEF fans are damn ruthless. Everyone has a right to an opinion. Why RIP people apart on a message board. Here are the facts:

1. Chiefs are the favorites to win
2. Accurate, fast and mobile QB's give the niners fits.
3. Speed does kill and the chiefs have it at a ton of positions
4. Niners have a great front 4
5. Niners have a good run game
6. Niners have decent receivers and a great TE.
7. To 4, 5 and 6 so does the Chiefs.
8. Chiefs have the better QB

I expect and hope for a great game where the better team wins. Will it be the Chiefs? Excellent possibility..will it be my niners, ok to good possibility. I am not confident nor relaxed about this game, but am happy as hell we have a young team with a great future. This game will be a chess match, both teams are great. This is an awesome game as a fan. Why not all just chill and enjoy the ride?
