Personally I don’t care. Football is played in the field.
When teams are watching film of the teams they are about to play, they are looking at recent tape, and not old tape.
Recent tape is what they are doing now, hence what he’s trying to explain to you. Stats are stats, no ones denying that, but if you are also going to ignore the context that goes with the stats then it’s a lost cause for anyone to have a conversation with you.
Bottom line, teams are going to look at other teams and say ok what are they known for and what are they doing well right now and trying to do right now, you get that off recent tape, not old tape where half the players weren’t playing. [Reply]

Yeah....it is. And the Chiefs have been showing up on the field lately. [Reply]

You're the smarmy prick trying to convince us that stats DO matter! Fuck you, queermonger. "#26 run defense" my fucking ASS.
Guess what was terrible up through week 10? OUR RUN DEFENSE.
Guess what has since become disciplined and a strength of the team? Our run defense?
Guess what has elasticity and craves a man's entry? Your fucking anus. [Reply]

We have actually watched this Chiefs team play all 18 weeks and the 18 weeks last season. Thus, it's not so much stats as an argument but instead an observation about our defense that we would make that just happens to dovetail with stats and scores.
And remarkable that you "don't care" yet you came over to our board to allegedly engage us on our football takes only to then ignore them when they don't fit your chosen narrative.

Great to hear rabs. Dealing with people sometimes get the best out of us. Specially the ones that think differently. Glad we can be friends. [Reply]

This makes sense. Watching recent tape. Doubt the coaching staff will look at the stats tho.

Oh rabster, wish you wouldn’t get so upset. But most importantly I wish you weren’t such a homophobe. [Reply]

Nice to meet you T-T.
I doubt the coaching staffs look at typical stats, but I’m sure they look at the advanced analytical stats. They’d be stupid not to. Looking at OL win percentages, CB passer ratings allowed against various routes, etc can probably save them a lot of time. They won’t base their game plan around these, but I’m sure they consider it. Even though we were division rivals, I've always liked the Chiefs and admired many of your players over the years, especially in the 90s -- Christian Okoye, Dante Hall, Priest Holmes, Neil Smith, of course Derrick Thomas (watching him sack our QB 7 times in a game was unreal).
My first NFL game I ever attended was in Foxboro on a cold December day. I remember watching Steve DeBerg throw a bomb to Stephone Paige on the very first play of the game. It was pretty much over after that.
Anyway... I just came on board because the Seahawks forum is pretty dead right now and I like to engage in good football talk, and also to provide insight into the 49ers from an opposing fan's PoV, since I follow them closely, being division rivals and all.
Damn I remember that game!! Watch it couple yrs back ,have it on vhs tape lol [Reply]
