Nolan and Zack Snyder, definitely an interesting team. There are already rumors now that Zod is going to be the villain.
I have to say I'm excited that it "appears" they aren't going to go totally out of left field and do something stupid and out of character for Superman. [Reply]
I have it on blu-ray, have probably seen it 4 times now, and still watched the last hour of it on HBO before Game of Thrones last night when I saw that it was on. I've always thought it was a solid movie.
(I've actually seen it more times than The Avengers) [Reply]
I just think it wasn't smartly scripted. Too many clunker lines and some of the character decisions and plot progressions were questionable.
But I agree. Generally speaking it was enjoyable, a pure popcorn flick. Lacked the pure enjoyability of the Marvel pictures, and lacked the gravitas of the Dark Knight trilogy. [Reply]

Because there's no way in blue Hades can anybody claim it is a better picture.
The Avengers is on Epix right now, I can watch it on demand anytime I want. Just haven't felt the urge.
Never said it was better, in any case. But I did only buy one of them on blu ray, so maybe I do like Man of Steel more on some subconscious level, for whatever reason. As much as I liked The Avengers, I didn't go back and see it in the theater a 2nd time, and I haven't gone out of my way to see it at home. [Reply]
I've not liked any Superman movie that I've seen......except this one. I went into thinking that it was going to suck. Henry Cavill was a damn good Superman. It's unfortunate that they're going to ruin this run at it with all of the bullshit casting around him. [Reply]
Oh and another thing that MoS had over the Marvel flicks was a great score. Marvel studios needs to hire Hans Zimmer to come up with a great defining theme. [Reply]

There are HUGE continuity gaps and the non-highlight characters get some really $#itty CGI...
Marvel Studios didn't make any of the XMen movies nor Spider Mans. They sold those rights off long ago. I'm sure they would to have them back now. And yes, FOX and Sony have screwed up those properties at times, yet they continue to make a mint off of them regardless. [Reply]
