@610SportsKC: "There's a reason that Houston job is still lingering... I kinda feel like there will be an announcement soon that EB will be getting that job. I've been talking to some people and I kinda fell like that's on the horizon." -- #Chiefs color analyst Danan Hughes (@dahughesguy83) https://twitter.com/610SportsKC/stat...332864/photo/1 [Reply]
Yeah, Watson has put the Texans in a position where they almost have to hire EB if they think they can keep him at all. Even if EB doesn't work out and their franchise is set back 3-5 years, going back to square 1 at QB would set them back 3-5 years anyway. [Reply]

Coaches don't set teams back 3-5 years even if they're horrible.
Freddie Kitchens is a top 3 worst hire in the past 10-20 years of the NFL. All it took was one competent coach with essentially the same set of players and they were back at it.
Bad GMs can set franchises back 3-5 years. Even back QBs can. But not bad coaches. That is, unless, they never get fired. [Reply]

Watson almost has to say that. It would be bad optics to say "Hire the guy I want or I'm out." Now when the Texans hire Bieniemy, Watson can say he talked with Bieniemy and decided he wanted to stay to get to work with him. [Reply]
Yeah if the Texans were hiring Daboll or Frazier, they would've done it this morning and had it ready to go. It's Bieniemy, just gotta wait until the season is over. [Reply]
