I tend to prefer rolled up long sleeves over short sleeves because I can control just how "rolled up" they are. Short sleeves usually are way higher above the elbow then I want them to be.

I was born without a fashion gene. I work for a company halfway across the country, so it doesn't matter what I wear to the office (there is only me and one other engineer and we don't deal with the public), so I wear shorts and T shirts in the summer and jeans and sweatshirts in the winter. I own one tie and don't know how to tie it. Dressing up is khakis and a button up shirt (or a sweater in the winter)that I may tuck in if extra fancy.

Probably kind of sad, but don't care.

that's fine - I don't expect many on Chief's Planet to understand any brand names outside of maybe Sketchers.

ST is a mystique - it's sought after - much in the same way the following brands are:

Elesse
Le Coq Sportif
or Lotto

I like the solid black - no I wear no shows black socks - and they're true no-shows - available at the Van's store - My new ST's are dope as fuck, anybody who knows the 'non mainstream' yet quality shoes - know of Sergio Tacchini.

To each their own, but spare me your it "is a mystique - it's sought after" brands. They look very similar to the shoes all the line cooks wore years ago when I was bartending. If you want to be the fashion guru, how about turning the "fashion challenged male" on to some To Boot New York, Ferragamos or the like? Grown men don't wear shorts and sneakers out at night or sandals. If you are at the beach, playing a sport or have not yet reached adulthood that makes sense. Is your advice to the fashion challenged male to buy Euro track suits and sneakers?

Apparently we have vastly differing fashion sense. Your's appears to be more casual.

Anyone know a good source for decent fitted T-shirts? My son wears them and we are having a hard time finding them. He used to like Target's Mossimo athletic cut T's but they have discontinued those. We have bought the Banana Republic fitted T's before but they can be pretty expensive if you don't catch a sale. They were fairly thin, too, iirc.

This has probably already been covered, but I really only have one pair of work shoes - a pair of black Doc Martens. Are these OK with khaki Docker's as long as I wear a black belt, too?

The traditional rule is not to wear black shoes with khaki (or any shade of brown, no matter how light it is) pants.

But I don't have any brown shoes. And no one's ever said, "Hey man, that looks like shit." Does that mean I have to go buy brown shoes? 'cause that shit's expensive.

You can do whatever you want, I'm just sayin'. My boss wears black shoes with khakis (even though his wife gives him shlt about it).

Traditionally black shoes are very formal. In Europe I believe they are ONLY worn with black pants, which are only worn with tuxes and to funerals.

Here's a chart that shoes brown shoes being a lot more versatile than black:
