I checked to see if my perception of their insanity was accurate... going back to their first NC (UK being slightly cheated for having won at NC the year before), they've obviously doubled up everyone in NCs.
Yet, they've missed the tournament twice as many seasons as the next team.
If you say a season was fairly successful by making it out of the first weekend of the tournament, they don't do that 60% of the time... and besides Villanova, that's an extra 3+ seasons.
And the Final Four is hard, right? Every other team has at least as many FF losses than NCs... well, not UConn, they're 6 for 7 winning it all once they make it that far.
Every other team has a pretty normal downward slope on how difficult it is to win the tournament (besides Duke making the Sweet Sixteen) while UConn has about an equal chance of losing in the 1st weekend or winning a title... :-)
