Others mentioned I should start this thread in my other thread. And while I won't have the new car for a while, I'd like to hear some thoughts and recommendations so I can have most of it on hand before the car shows up. My other thread had a lot of great posts in it and you guys have been a big help.
While black cars looks great clean, keeping it relatively clean in Phoenix might be the death of me. But I'll sure as shit give it my best shot.
I actually like cleaning and waxing our current cars but it's not like I am being meticulous about it. I've never had a car with rims either and I know those can get dirty quick. I've never owned a dark colored car and I've never had a car with leather. I plan to take really good care of this car and would like some tips on doing so. But I'm just a fucking n00b.
I'll throw some links out from Amazon as I mention things.
Some mention that after washing you should use a paint cleanser before waxing. But wondering if washing then clay baring is sufficient prior to wax?
I've seen this P21S Paintwork Cleanser mentioned on a few reads. Looks like good use for water spots and swirls prior to waxing if needed. Not sure if you would do entire car first or just use it for bad spots before waxing?
Also, a company called Zaino has great reviews and recommendations. They have a package that looks like it includes all products I'd need together including wash, polish, wax, leather and tire care.

And then rusty water drips from the vents on the rotors and makes little rust pools on the wheel, which I have to go back and wipe after about an hour or so. Hitting the rotors with the leaf blower helps some, but I still get the rust pools.
I ended up just using the cheap microfiber towels you get in the big pack at sams or Costco. It was the only reliable way to get in all the small areas. Luckily now I just have somewhat flat 5 spokes where a boars hair brush gets the job done. [Reply]

I may have asked you this before - do your stock M3 brake pads make mountains of brake dust? My M2 stock pads are insane - it only takes about 3 drives before the wheels are turning reddish gray again.
My AMG32 (and my 320SLK) is a lot better than any Merc I have owned unless I bought the "Stupid" pads.

A few BEFORES prior to the paint correction i'm undertaking.

That's the thing - I've only spray waxed the part I've corrected thus far - I'll do the final step over the whole car with this new stuff I got that's awesome. It's a work in progress to be sure. [Reply]

I have always loved a M3Coupe (yours kicks ass) but never owned one. I prefer Merc's as Bimmer owners ****ing call their cars "motorcycles"...
BEAMERS ARE BIKES!
I did have a Black 850CSI (the original M8)and for a few weeks, an M5 (stage5) that was a rocket ship. This is Taylor Patterson’s and he has a great video at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3xFbe9Y85pc
Such a fun car to drive through Jefferson/ Franklin counties in. [Reply]

Always loved the look of those 850s. For a while there they could be found on the used marked priced cheap but wouldn’t be surprised if that’s changed. Stuff like the 3 series and particularly M3s from late 80s with a manual have blown up in pricing. [Reply]

If you had to buy a 1991 850CSI with todays money..(cough)... $90K in 2018: $165K
My 92 500E (AMG built by Porsche and Mercedes Benz) was $83K new and the only option from the factory was a sunroof. You could have them leave it off but the price was the same.:-):-):-) CD Players were installed at the port.
The $90K 850CSI has held its value but a <10K miles car is only worth about 1/2 of it's MSRP value. My Merc fairs better at $50K for a 40K mile unit and 10K models are scarce as only 1500 made it to North America.
A 1991 Porsche 911 Turbo S sold new for almost $105K and now a less than 10K mile car is worth over $150K! Even 40K milers are bringing over their original sticker. [Reply]
