You can take a QB already in the league or you can draft one that has entered the draft.
So the Jags take Mahomes at his current contract with full liability for the remainder of his signing bonus etc as if they had been the team that had originally signed that contract in the first place not KC. So essentially they trade positions with KC.
Then what happens?
I think I know this one.
What happens then is that Brittney is carrying Carson Wentz' child.
Per sources, Texans QB Deshaun Watson met with new Texans head coach David Culley last Friday. In that meeting Watson reiterated that he wants to be traded and told Culley he has no intention of playing for the Texans again. No change from Watson's end. He remains dug in.

That hard-line stance sounds good... but In that case he still eats up cap space. If he “retires” ... they’re still on the hook for the signing bonus against their cap (except accelerated) and I believe his contract picks right back up if he un-retires.
If they cut him, they take the cap hit and he is free to do what he wants.
They have some power, but it’s nuanced. If he refuses to play or says he’s retiring, they can fine him or come after him for signing bonus return/relief... but that’s a long painful process. [Reply]

It would be totally worth their time to do so. Would be different if all this happened before he signed.
He signed knowing that his best receiver was traded away and that the coach was a lame duck. He also knew the team was being run by people with the brain of a gnat. [Reply]

Yep. He took the money and now he wants to run. [Reply]

This is exactly how I feel. Now there's reports Russell Wilson wants traded. This is turning into the NBA [Reply]

I don't think he or anyone understood back then how much power and psychosis would come with an Easterby regime. It seemed dysfunctional but has turned into a shit show. I'd imagine a lot of players were swindled by Pioli early on too.
The problem isn't that Easterby is in charge. Even jj watt, Mr. Texan, suggested he'd be more than happy with the right GM choice. The problem is the owner had a blatantly obvious out that would make his star players, the fans, and everybody else happy and the dumbass owner chose not to do it. I don't think anyone could have predicted that their owner would be this drawn into the cult. [Reply]
