This series was mostly a dud. Oscar Isaac definitely made it interesting. But the story just wasn't there. The plot got goofy with little payoff.
That makes sense. I figured the next series (if there is one) will explore who the third dude is.

Oscar Isaac floated the boat. There wasn't really a lot that was compelling outside of his performance. There were some elements about his trauma and developing the multiple personalities and the (albeit Disney-fied) coming to terms with it.

But yeah, the big battle was not good. The love story was dumb and obviously a lazy plot device. I didn't hate her character entirely, I thought her action scenes were pretty good. The plot device and her magically forgetting Mark killed her dad. I also cringed extra hard at the "are you an Egyptian super hero?" Ugh.

It wasn't terrible though, I'm glad I watched it.

Yeah, it wasn't a complete waste. I thought the Taweret part was kinda cool, but the woke culturally specific superhero insert you're talking about was definitely cringe.

I thought it was weird that they would wait until a season finale to introduce another psych personality. But I guess it definitely opens them up for a season 2. Basically Khonshu has spoofed the Jake Lockley personality just like it did the Marc Spector personality. He probably doesn't know about the others. That's my guess at least.

In the comics, the Jake Lockley persona was just a cab driver. Not really super badass or anything. The show has kinda made him ruthless and cruel but apparently still superhuman badass. Khonshu is taking advantage of each different personality.

Mark didn't kill her father. Bushman did and we will probably see him next season.

I liked it, though I'd have preferred for it to get even weirder after the end of E4. There were signs of a 3rd personality back from either the 1st or 2nd episode (whenever Marc/Steven blacked out and got ultra violent), so I was glad for that payoff at the end.

Jake was the personality that both Mark and Stephen were confused about when there was dead bodies everywhere. Thought that was obvious.

Yeah, pretty sure it happened as early as the 1st episode when he was getting dragged away by Harrow's cult in that town in the Alps before blacking out and then coming to with like five dead bodies around him. Happened several times throughout the show.

They did a good job of smacking you in the face with the foreshadowing and then keeping you busy with other stuff long enough to make you stop thinking about it.

Eh. She was pretty hot, though. I liked the costume. I'm down for Mediterranean Wonder Woman.

I was waiting for Lockley. They teased he was in there in the credits every week by cutting Oscar Isaac's face into three parts.

The show was a solid B-/C+ imo. Started super strong and fizzled 4/5th of the way in. I am looking forward to seeing him in action with Blade and Black Knight down the road.

Yeah, even as someone on the other side of the political divide that line was pretty unnecessary. Just have the Egyptian superhero, you don't have to literally point it out on-screen. It crosses the line into virtue signaling.

So apparently Layla El-Faouly is now the Scarlet Scarab. She's the Egyptian version of Captain America.

Sorry....tried to give this some leeway to be good but it really disappointed.
