It's being reported at this time that Rice is expected to be suspended half the season or more.

He WAS an X receiver. Like 5 years ago. Dude is washed as washed can be.
That underneath/big slot role could be filled in a lot of ways, including by a TE. Don't need to bring in a name of a guy who used to be good a long time ago just to make someone feel better. [Reply]

Brown, Worthy, Rice and Watson are absolute locks to make the team. I think Toney makes it also just because of talent and return ability...that leaves one 1 spot for a vet.
Hence I think Ross and Moore are toast, Ross is probably a PS player.
Yards wise with the additions of Brown and Worthy making Kelce's job easier I think Mahomes gets closer to 5k again.
Would be nice, I'm just not seeing a viable vet at the moment who'd be a good add. Maybe Richie James would be my top choice, currently.
I suspect Sky will be on the team and get some looks, Ross is probably a Practice Squad guy like you said but I think Andy will try to get him a few looks early in the season to see if he can help. [Reply]

Yeah I just don’t see a place for Ross. I wouldn’t hate bringing back James. When Healthy he’s a better weapon than Moore.
That last drive of the SB he was wide open on the crosser that went to Rice. I mean so wide open he probably scores on a spectacular 55 yd overtime game winning touchdown. [Reply]
Yeah, I didn't see it live, but the replay showed James more wide open than he's probably been in his entire career, and Mahomes just missed him. It likely would have been a long OT touchdown like you said.
On that note, Purdy missed an absolutely wide open Aiyuk in the end zone on the 3rd and 4 where Jones pressured him to throw it away and settle for the field goal in OT. That game might have been won by us on the slimmest of margins ever for a Super Bowl. [Reply]

Even though it happened, Mahomes didn't even look there because the play was designed for Rice...if you watch Mic'd up on that play Mahomes says "be ready for it 4 balls comin to you" [Reply]

I wish this would be the case.
But they aren't cutting Moore. Just isn't going to happen this season. Not before Week 6-7 anyway. Probably not at all. [Reply]

Exciting stuff!!!
Personally, I hope Wiley out-performs his projections.
But the reality is that Andy is going to give him a subpackage of something between 10 and 15 plays going into Week 1 (same as he always does with every rook, apparently). Based on how he does over the next couple weeks, he'll maybe get another package of 15 or so plays to work on over the next few weeks. And so on. And Gray is ahead of him (for now), so Wiley isn't going to get a ton of touches off the bat.
Knowing that, it's not super likely that Wiley will have a lot of production this season. It is likely that he'll be in on a lot of running plays, because everyone has to be able to block in this offense, and rooks always get a ton of snaps blocking. [Reply]
