Was just told the following: "Chiefs looking at 1 offensive player (WR), 1 defensive player on current rosters to acquire with draft picks. If nothing materializes, they are looking at a WR with one of the 2nd round picks."
Here's what I would do:
PUNT ON 2019 round 2.
Bundle both picks to Patrick Peterson, get him a new deal that keeps him in KC for 4-5 years.
Basically your 2019 Round 1 and Round 2 picks become Frank Clark and Patrick Peterson, which is bold and strong when you are in a win-now mode and not wanting to waste Mahomes' best/youngest years.
Use remainder of 2019 drafts to solidify the back-end of your roster, create more competition.
Draft nerds will hate this move, but it's logical. [Reply]

that's where he fits, cause he's trash, hard ass on john ross
We should offer next years #1 and this years #3 for PP .If we got him I think that would virtually guarantee that #1 to be the 32nd pick. Not that valuable. [Reply]

Nope. That's overpaying.
The guy is a freaking 29-year-old CB.
Do you remember Darelle Revis? He was even better than PP but was done at 31 years old or so. You can look at guys like Sherman or Norman also, they slowed down around 30 years old and it's not just injury.
I mean I just don't get how he would be any more valuable than Peters who was traded for a future 2nd round pick and a 4th round pick.
Sure Peters had attitude problems and was a slightly lesser player than PP but he was 25 years old and had two more years to play on the cheap. [Reply]

also a top 5 defender in all of the NFL and no sign of slowing down. [Reply]
