(CNN)The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is expected to announce this afternoon that the first case of Wuhan coronavirus has been reported in the United States, in Washington state, a federal source outside the CDC tells CNN.
The source is involved in the matter and was made aware of a CDC media briefing scheduled for later today.
The novel virus, which was first identified last month in Wuhan, China, has so far infected more than 300 people and killed six, in an outbreak that has been reported in five countries -- now including the United States.
It is unclear if this person recently traveled to China, where and how they became infected, and if this person has transmitted the virus to anyone else in the United States. [Reply]
Wtf just read an article that said it could have originated from bat soup. Literally pictures of people eating it with a dead bat on the side or it's stomach is cleared out. Fucking disgusting no wonder this shit originates in china [Reply]

Someone posted a clip of a guy eating live baby rats in some thread. I hope it was fake, but I don't think it is. [Reply]
If the incubation period is really 14 days and this is as communicable as some are reporting then it’s really over in terms of containing it. Will know in a week or two to see if the growth explodes outside of Wuhan.
I’m waiting to hear that China has expanded their quarantine to the borders of China. [Reply]

So I'm not panicking yet unless this thing mutates and becomes more deadly.
According to Face the Nation, (I know, it was on when I walked into the room), another 2000 confirmed cases with 2600 more suspected cases in China. [Reply]

I'll believe that when we hear it from a more trusted source than the Chinese government, who are trying to enforce a massive quarantine. It sounds like they haven't shared their data with anybody. [Reply]
