2008 Kansas isn’t even the top champion this century. But do go off. [Reply]

Which, by the way, is also why I think Jay Wright’s Villanova 5 out championship teams also beat this UConn. Anybody who can neutralize Clingan even a little bit is gonna be able to score on them.
Omari Spellman neutralized Doke.
Strong enough to bang inside, but also could shoot in the mid 30%’s from 3.
He was the one who really killed any chance we had. [Reply]

Find me another championship team this century who beat two #1 seeds to win a title (let alone #1 seeds of the quality of 2008 UNC and Memphis). Oh and a top 10 player in NBA history in the E8. [Reply]

I'm pretty sure Uconn would have destroyed all #1 seeds, #2 seeds, #3 seeds and #4 seeds in the tournament. [Reply]

Since you like to cite KenPom, 2015 Duke. Who beat a Wisconsin team that had a higher KenPom than Memphis.
And was it 2008 or 2009 where it’s been the only time where all F4 teams were 1 seeds? [Reply]

I would argue 2015 given that Duke, Wisconsin, and Kentucky were all historically good that season. Michigan St. making a run kind of skews things though. [Reply]
That was the season. None of the above were seen to be significantly better than another. I believe Knecht was listed as the best but it wasn't thought of head and shoulders better. [Reply]

Took a fluke shot that was the luck equivalent of throwing a ball over your head at half court and a thousand missed Memphis free throws...so...uh...no that team was a fraud. UConn dominated [Reply]

2001 Duke
2005 UNC
2007 Florida
2009 UNC
2012 Kentucky
2015 Duke
2018 Villanova
2021 Baylor
