Nzoner's Game Room>2019 Free agency Thread
O.city 03:24 PM 02-05-2019
We don't really have one of these yet, so figured we could use this as a place to discuss potential free agent acquisitions and what we would like to look for them to bring in.

If any of you guys are interested, heres a good place to do some research.

That Hitchens contract signing though for sure is a big concern. He was trash last year at 9M per season.

The other moves are OK. Ragland looked like he was on the rise and going to be a good one and then was just poor this past season.

Amerson was a cheap low risk signing. Same for Scandrick who was not that bad.
The money/year length isn't the issue. The issue is he thought Amerson could be the outside starting corner when Fuller was in the slot. That moved turned out to be a disaster.

When that failed, he signed Scandrick, who was benched later in the year

Hitchens contract is fine dude. ILB’s just twice as much as him a year after he got his contract.

9M per season to be one of the worst starting players in the league is fine to you? Lol.

I do think he can be better this year but last year he was trash. His play wasnt even worth a million dollars.

I'm starting to wonder if the idea of getting Earl Thomas to pair with Mathieu wasn't just us being opportunistic when Thomas's market was softer than expected, but was actually our plan.

Mills, a seventh-round pick in 2016, missed the latter half of 2018 with a sprained foot. Despite starting 25 games in his three seasons, Mills has never been a true difference-maker.
Would you trade for Douglas?

I’m right there with you man. A lot of work ahead needs to be done, especially corner, pass rush, LB and another safety

Hitchens was good in a 4-3. Like Speaks, Sutton put Hitchens in bad positions he wasn’t comfortable in.

Clean slate for both those guys

Also, what’s the deal with Zach Brown? He’s a good linebacker and nobody wants him.

I’d be pretty content if we sign Dennard and trade for Douglas.

Then we can definitely me safety a priority in the draft alongside the front 7.

Bummer part: “Kansas City had a one-year, $12 million deal on the table to pair Thomas with Tyrann Mathieu, which looked like it was going to get done.” https://t.co/Ry63H3FEzR

NFLPA Salary Cap report has us at about $32.5M right now, not sure if that does/doesn’t include some signings
