I get a Cutlerian vibe from this guy. Seems to be built like a franchise QB. Powerful arm, some beautiful passes, perfect bodytype. But he is lacking an "it" factor, is he not? He's not a world-beating, overcome-the-odds, particularly spiriting QB. Looks like he could have an okay career in the NFL in which he wins nothing of consequence.
Well if there was one Andy Reid QB in this entire draft, it's Trubisky, isn't it? Super accurate, doesn't take too many risks with the ball, is very mentally tough and very athletic. He's a slam dunk for the Chiefs to trade up for, if he lasts to the 20s, but in a QB-starved NFL with at least 6 new head coaches looking for their QB, there's no chance he lasts to us. [Reply]

50% with a bunch of drops by guys like Grant. Go watch the film. Mahomes put the ball on the money vast majority of the time. Receivers were scared shitless and I don't blame them considering the NFL talent they were up against in that LSU secondary.

I've seen plenty of tape on Allen blowing screen passes. This was the same issue with Davis Webb at Texas Tech. Mahomes was an immediate upgrade just on the damn screen passes, never mind everything else he brought to the table that Webb didn't do. [Reply]
LSU game included, Mahomes has always elevated his game enough to make the players around him better. Mahomes magic, you could call it.
Then you look at what Allen has done in college, especially against teams that were from the Power 5... it's not pretty. His numbers go from bad to worse. He wasn't making his guys better. [Reply]
Josh Allen will kill the Senior Bowl and then most likely kill the combine throwing session because he’s perfectly built for those. He will wow people with his strong arm throwing all of the passes in shorts at practice. People will be impressed when they see the zip he puts on out routes.
It wouldn’t surprise me at all if Dorsey drafted this kid 1st overall. If we learned anything about him, it’s that he will always draft the boom or bust prospects. Peters, Tyreek, Kelce, Jones, Tanoh, Pat. All fit that mold. [Reply]

I feel bad for the kid though. Cleveland is QB Graveyard and they will force him to start immediately due to #1 draft pick status. If he is lucky, Dorsey will also trade for Alex Smith and that will give Allen a chance to sit for a couple years to learn. [Reply]
