Peralta didn't have a chance to run Rizzo back to second. He was running away from first base, throwing from damn near the grass, and he barely got the ball to first in time to get the runner out. If he even attempts to run Rizzo back to 2nd the Cards dont get an out on that play. Peralta did the best he could on that play.
If you want to blame someone for game 1, I suggest you turn your attention to Sierra in the outfield who was responsible for Rizzo being on base in the first place. [Reply]
