Definitely let Nova stay in that one with all of those offensive rebounds for 3’s and the ugly ending, but another good win nonetheless.
Schedule should ease up a bit until conference play. Hope our young guys can get some confidence and produce more consistently. Vick and Dedric have carried us so far without Doke. [Reply]
That is as bad as Villanova might be in the next five years. Good to get them now - still a disappointing performance. Nova just lost at home to Penn and also lost to Furman. FURR MAN.
Might be about the 4th game we win because of Vick. Imagine if we didn't have him this year? Could have four losses.
I'm amazed at how bad Charlie Moore is. He's just horrible. I'll give it to him - he tries defensively but he just is not good at it. He has never been able to figure out his role in the offense after being a 30+ minute a game shot chucker his freshman year at Cal.
Ladies and Gentleman Quinten Grimes will be in Crimson and Blue in 2019-2020. He's going full Wayne Selden. Hopefully Dotson keeps his assist numbers down so we are lucky enough to have him back. Once he figures out how to be a better distributor like Frank did, he's going to be a Frank Mason type yet 2 inches taller. [Reply]
I am firmly in the camp of pressing often. This team just can’t be efficient offensively outside of the possessions that go to Lawson. And if Vick happens to be on fire. [Reply]
Grimes has become a defensive specialist for this KU team, it's bizarre.
Now they are actually quite a good defensive team which is the first time that could be said in a few years. Offense is still more or less of a mess, though. It basically just consists of Dedric Lawson in the high post/on the elbow (which is really effective especially when he gets around the basket), Vick's ridiculous contested joke shots (obviously not sustainable at this 55% clip), and Dotson's occasional drives. Him pulling the ball out of an open layup up 5 points with a minute left was the kind of play I'd expect out of Vick. The basketball IQ just isn't there. Really it isn't there for most of this team (why is Vick not calling timeout and/or throwing the ball out of bounds in that spot, why is Dedric fouling in that spot at the end of the game...?) which makes it all the more incredible this team is #1 at the moment. If Vick wins NCAA tournament MOP and leads Kansas to a title, can you please post “I love Lagerald Vick, I always have, and I always will”? [Reply]

Garett and lightfoot each had a few big time defensive plays. Garett is reminding me more and more of a less offensively skilled Releford. He might be more explosive driving to the rim though. [Reply]
