Breaking news story with @RossDellenger: Nationwide conference meetings this week are expected to result in the postponement of the 2020 college football season and all fall sports.
Fine with the NFL but they better not be stupid like Manfred and have an actual plan. The NHL and NBA are showing how a league can run just by using common sense.
Never felt comfortable with college FB. It's unreasonable to expect college athletes to play in bubbles. Especially when the majority of them have no aspirations of playing in the NFL. It's also going to be really hard for a noncompetitive CFB program to comply. [Reply]
Most of the players want to play, the coaches want to coach, schools need the $$$, everyone will play/coach under state of the art safety protocols... the only people who want to shutdown college football have other issues with the sport (i.e. "exploitation" of college players, concussion safety, etc.) and are using the scamdemic as a convenient excuse to destroy the sport. College football does not have state of the art safety protocols, the NFL is so far doing a good job, college football doing this is a shitshow. [Reply]
I'm all for moving it to Spring this year plus guys like Micah Parsons and Rondale Moore have already opted out both will be drafted. You would have more guys opt out in the Spring but atleast you would have a season. [Reply]

Power 5 conferences have the resources to ensure top of the line safety protocols. [Reply]

It's not even about protocols. Goodell and an ownership majority can put pressure on nfl teams to follow strict protocols. Good luck trying to do that with college administrators and college kids. Especially at the bottom of a conference. I trust Saban to ruthlessly enforce protocol, but he can't enforce protocol for his opponent. Even if he does everything right it will take one careless opponent (see the Marlins) to make this thing a total mess. [Reply]
