WAY too many cops in Texas. There is no point in having a high performance anything. When you can break the speed limit in 1st gear what's the point unless there are places where they leave you alone. [Reply]
The preliminary investigation showed the BMW motorcycle driven by Benson was traveling at a high rate of speed westbound in the left lane of RM 2222, police said. A white, 2014 Dodge van was stopped at the T-intersection of Mount Bonnell Road and RM 2222, police said. After checking for oncoming traffic, the van attempted to turn left onto RM 2222 when it was struck by the motorcycle.
The driver of the van hasn't been charged with anything.....yet [Reply]

Intersection has a light. So did Benson run a red light if the van was making a legal left turn? [Reply]

That is incorrect. It is about the only hilly road in the city with twists and turns. No light at that corner and limited visibility. Far from the first (or last most likely) accident at that intersection.
Also, due to the hills and turns it is a fun road to drive so I can imagine CB was having fun, maybe showing off for whoever was on the back, and had the ultimate bad luck on the timing of the minivan. [Reply]

2222 is one of the steepest thoroughfares in Austin, it's easy to get going fast down the hill without trying to be excessive. I used to drive it a lot for work. I imagine the people who live out there burn up their brakes similar to people who live in places like Colorado with a bunch of mountains. [Reply]

Evidently it wasn’t the brakes that burn up [Reply]
