Let's assume they're going to lose to the Eagles. The Steelers or Ravens will probably be #4; the Steelers, Ravens, Colts, or Titans will probably be #6.
As the #5 seed, you'd go on the road to #4. That means either the Steelers or Ravens, which would be a tough game but not unwinnable.
As the #1 seed you'd play the winner of 4/5 unless 6 beats 3. That matchup will probably be the Ravens, Colts, or Titans at the Texans; let's assume the Texans win that home game, which means the Chiefs would play the winner of 4/5 which will probably be Steelers/Ravens vs. Ravens/Steelers/Colts/Titans. I give the home team the edge again.
So ultimately I think the Chiefs will be facing the Steelers or Ravens in their 1st playoff game. It's just a question of whether it's home in week 2 or away in week 1.
4 vs 5 will be either Steelers/Ravens vs Chargers/Chiefs. It can't really be anything else unless New England or Houston shit the bed. But the 5 seed is locked to Chargers or Chiefs right now. Nobody else can be 5 but those two teams. [Reply]
I think we’ll be the 1, and we will beat the winner of Steelers(4)/Chargers(5).
I think the Pats(3) will beat the Ravens(6), then go on to beat the Texans(2).
Chiefs vs Pats at Arrowhead to go to the Super Bowl.
Belicheck schemes to take away Kelce and limit Hill on Defense while playing ball control on offense. This forces Mahomes to try and win on limited time while throwing to Watkins, Conley and our RB’s. [Reply]
With both the Colts and Titans winning big yesterday, the Ravens know that they are hanging on by a thread for that 6th seed and will be very motivated for a win against the Chargers! [Reply]

As will the Seahawks be for the Chiefs...
Seriously, I don't see the Ravens doing anything to the Chargers. It's their 2nd road game in a row, plus they are so one dimensional. The Chargers will take the run away from them, because they have a good defense, and they'll make Jackson try and beat them with the pass. He can't.
Last Thursday's loss was a colossal Chiefs **** up, especially when you consider that the Patriots lost. KC needs to win out, because the Chargers are going to. [Reply]

I just don't see how any team can simply take away the run from a team that is averaging like 200 ypg. [Reply]
One could argue that the only clutch game the Chargers have really won in the past few years is the Thursday one against our favorite team and they still needed the best of Bob Sutton + Reid to get it done. The Ravens under Harbaugh have much more big game pedigree.
My insecurities come from Chiefs PTSD and not from how good other teams are (I don't believe that the AFC has a clear elite). Since the path to HFA for KC is so obvious they will probably f*** it up. [Reply]

Despite the Chargers' performances of the past, it's pretty clear to me that they're a better team this year than they've been for quite some time. [Reply]

The Chargers are in too many close games, not just one score but literally one play games. They could be deemed better but they don't pass the eye test (just like the Chiefs D to be fair). [Reply]

Chargers are different this year.
The typical Charger team losses at Arrowhead with the Chiefs are up 14pts in the 4th quarter with under 4 minutes to play [Reply]
The only positive to take away from losing to LAC was that Mahomes will be playing two more games and gaining experience instead of possibly sitting game 16. He hasn't even played a full 16 games yet so the more experience the better.
We need an early lead against the Seahawks. Their o line is garbage and they allow a lot of pressure on the QB. We absolutely must limit their ability to lean on the running game... [Reply]
