We don't really have one of these yet, so figured we could use this as a place to discuss potential free agent acquisitions and what we would like to look for them to bring in.
If any of you guys are interested, heres a good place to do some research.
People will bring up the sack total and how great it was but the new scheme brings pressure from everywhere in the front 7. It isn’t dependent on two edge rushers and Chris Jones. It needs coverage that can hold up and pattern match.- @Jacobs71 [Reply]
Seems like they’re doing all they can to make sure they can cover people, and I’m sure the staff is looking to use scheme more so to create pressure in conjunction with that. [Reply]

Jesus fuck, no.
Cook sucks, man.
Every time that guy has been in a situation where he could actually matter, he has failed miserably. He's been a career cocktease who has only ever performed on teams that blow.
If you can't get Fant, you don't make the deal. I'm not even confident enough in Irv Smith (the 3rd of the 'big 3' in this draft) to make that move.
I damn sure wouldn't throw Cook's sorry ass out there to loaf through every important game he plays. That dude's a bum. [Reply]

Probably a lot of truth in that. I do think Speaks is going to surprise us early on, he’s gonna be a good player IMO. More to be added though all over.
Most of us knew by midseason last year that all that pass rush wasn't going to matter against teams like New England because the secondary was so freaking bad.
Of course there's truth in it. People just don't want to accept that the NFL now isn't the same NFL they grew up with. [Reply]

Stop the run, build the secondary with vets and use scheme (blitzes, twists, stunts) on passing downs. [Reply]
