We don't really have one of these yet, so figured we could use this as a place to discuss potential free agent acquisitions and what we would like to look for them to bring in.
If any of you guys are interested, heres a good place to do some research.

But look at it in terms of years remaining at/near present production.
TE's age better than CBs. A 29 yr old Kelce on a fantastic contract is going to be a Jag for a total outlay of a little more than $25 million dollars. And he'll be 31 at the end of the deal which is still at/near his prime.
Ramsey would cost roughly $38 million over that 3-year period and that's only IF you can get him to show up and play on the tag the 3rd year.
So the age thing matters, but not quite as much given that Kelce should age well given his position and relatively low miles. And it's offset somewhat by the contractual difference between the two.
It's too complicated and would never happen because of PR if nothing else, but it's not completely nutty IF the Chiefs could snag Fant. [Reply]
“The reality is this. The #Chiefs needed to get younger on their defensive line. More athletic and stout. That’s why Daly is here, to coach them up. Defense also needed new voices to head in a new direction. $$$ needed to go to back end.” - @Jacobs71
Probably a lot of truth in that. I do think Speaks is going to surprise us early on, he’s gonna be a good player IMO. More to be added though all over. [Reply]

This is correct. Just because some draft pick can "do what Kelce does" on paper doesn't mean he's the same guy, with the same trust and chemistry that he and Mahomes have developed.
Now, how 'bout that designation, friend? :-) [Reply]
