Nzoner's Game Room>2019 Free agency Thread
O.city 03:24 PM 02-05-2019
We don't really have one of these yet, so figured we could use this as a place to discuss potential free agent acquisitions and what we would like to look for them to bring in.

If any of you guys are interested, heres a good place to do some research.

But 'give it a chance' means give the guy something to work with as well. You can't just say "hey Spags, fix all this crap and here's 25% of our cap to work with..."

If you want to fairly judge the guy, you need to give him a puncher's chance. And I don't think tossing a bunch of roster chaff at him is a way to go about doing that because nothing about his history suggests that's a rock he's gonna be able to get up that hill.

Give him a roster of representative NFL talent - I'm fine with generally solid across the board - and see if he can coach that up to a level of a generally solid defense.

Don't give the guy a bunch of scraps and expect him to work miracles. That's a recipe for failure.
Exactly this,

This is why I'm guessing 2 more offseasons of FA's and Draft picks to get back to a top 15 (I know we hadn't been one) Defense.

When I made these arguments about Spaqs defense needing to be rebuilt completely I had plenty of people on here claim I was crazy, and Houston/Ford could play in 4-3 easy.

Source: #Eagles CB Ronald Darby is expected to visit the #Chiefs tonight. If all goes well, he could sign considering the serious interest.

So yeah its going to take this offseason and maybe 1-2 more of drafts to right the ship.
They weren’t 2018 bad in 2017 and Ford missed 10 games. It isn’t a huge loss.

Yep... so let’s see who they add. I’m sure they’ll add 8-10 defenders by the time the draft ends.

They missed Peters more this year than a lot of people want to admit.

They COULD play in a 4-3. The Chiefs didn’t think they were good enough to pay them $30M.

Yeah, I think if the price were less, they'd still be here.

It is what it is. Tough decisions needed to be made

Peters was hot garbage in LA. Just more evidence that letting these guys go isn’t the end of the world.

Hot garbage is strong, but he wasn't as good for sure.

But the Chiefs missed the 2017 version of Peters for sure as well.

I did NOT bitch about Ford or Houston. I did NOT just start in on Spags.

So I could not possibly care less about what 'everyone' did.

You can either speak in generalities to the wind or you can speak directly to me about what I've actually said. If you are disinclined to inform yourself as to my actual stated positions, kindly shut the **** up.

Kosher?
Oh for fuck's sake cool off
