Saccopoo Memorial Draft Forum>QB Impressions
Direckshun 12:25 AM 01-03-2017
First glances at several QBs we're going to give a shit about over the next four months. Feel free to set me straight.

DeShone Kizer, Notre Dame
6'4", 230 lbs
26-9 TD-INT, 59%, 2925 passing yards

I get a Cutlerian vibe from this guy. Seems to be built like a franchise QB. Powerful arm, some beautiful passes, perfect bodytype. But he is lacking an "it" factor, is he not? He's not a world-beating, overcome-the-odds, particularly spiriting QB. Looks like he could have an okay career in the NFL in which he wins nothing of consequence.

Mitch Trubisky, North Carolina
6'3", 220 lbs
30-6 TD-INT, 69%, 3748 passing yards

Well if there was one Andy Reid QB in this entire draft, it's Trubisky, isn't it? Super accurate, doesn't take too many risks with the ball, is very mentally tough and very athletic. He's a slam dunk for the Chiefs to trade up for, if he lasts to the 20s, but in a QB-starved NFL with at least 6 new head coaches looking for their QB, there's no chance he lasts to us.

:-) :-) :-)

Clay, dude, you know I love you, but suck my fucking dick.
It's one thing to be leery and burnt out on FA's, but I'll draft 1000 Geno's before I ever turn tail on ANY draft class.

Keep hearing from scouts who've made USC school calls that Darnold is going to stay in school

So the 4 stud QBs so far:

Tribusky will start soon
Kizer starts when he returns from injury
Watson is starting now
Mahomes continues marinating under Smith in KC

This is really exciting. Watson looks every bit the stud I thought he'd be -- I look forward to his sophomore year next year when defenses key in on him more. Can he adjust? That was always the question with him, but I figured he could find a way. He's just an amazing talent that I wanted over Mahomes at the time.

Kizer has looked alright, given the dumpster fire he's surrounded by. Reminds me a bit of Derek Carr in a way -- Carr walked into the disaster that was Oakland and didn't completely shit himself. I think Kizer's future could be similar.

Tribusky really did look amazing in the preseason. High hopes for that kid.

He should probably stay one more year though. For one, he needs it, and for two, who wants to play for the Jets?

Rudolph is the most underrated. I think he could be a solid starter.
Definitely, has the brightest nose and best at guiding a sleigh at night.

Disappointed... Only 776...

He has regressed some and is throwing more picks this year. USCs WRs are also under performing this year. They seem to not be able to shake DBs.

No Darnold, Allen looks bad, Rosen is good but far from a generation talent.

Wait for 18 guyz!

Very reminiscent of a guy name Hackenberg isn't it?

Accuracy issues. Couldn't produce when talent around him decreased. Interceptions. blah blah. Same shit another guy.

How is Allen a better talent coming out than Mahomes?

He looks shittier, plays against worse competition. Yet he's this prized QB based on his skill set and Mahomes is "TEXAS TECH AIR RAID DO NOT DRAFT!!!!"

I haven't watched any Washington State games in recent memory. Did Mike Leach suddenly turn over a new leaf? Won't his QBs have the same issues and concerns that his Texas Tech QBs did?

People are confused about Leach's air raid compared to the up tempo styles. Leach's offense can play up tempo but he prefers a snap with under 10 seconds on the play clock. The QB gets two plays: a pass play and a run play and it is his decision to check into either one depending on what he sees the defense doing. He can also audible protections and routes at the line.
