Defensive coordinators are going to be tearing their hair out when they realize they have to put a safety over the top of Hill, bracket Kelce underneath and meanwhile there's nothing they can do to stop KB from killing guys on one-on-one balls down the field.
Honestly.
Hill
Watkins
Benjamin
Conley
Robinson
Kelce at TE
This has got to be the leagues most deadliest receiving corps right now. [Reply]
I posted the sportstrack numbers yesterday. His cap hit was 8.5 mil this year. I'm assuming nobody wanted to pay the prorated contract and thus cleared waivers. [Reply]
One thing that worries me is he's not very productive compared to target vs reception ratio. His career numbers are 207 receptions vs 404 targets. Compare that to another above average receiver such as Allen Robinson who has 243 receptions vs 457 targets. [Reply]

Look at his QBs. He had Newton who ran a metric shit ton and then chucked it deep....and then on to the clusterfuck that was the Bills QB situation. [Reply]
low risk, possibly high reward. I have zero problem with this pick-up and I expect nothing whatsoever from him. So maybe I get surprised, but no big deal. [Reply]

Why? he's going to a team where he's not asked to be number 1 or number 2. The dude does have talent. maybe his head wasnt in it. For the Chiefs, this is a no lose situation really. I dont see the downside to this. at worst, it doesnt work and he gets cut and the Chiefs lose nothing really. [Reply]
Here's how I expect Benjamin to help (if he tries):
-Give Mahomes another bailout so we don't feed Kelce 20x per game (exhausting). Even if he's not open, throw it to him.
-Intermediate routes - without Hunt, D's are doubling Tyreek and Kelce deep. He sucks at quick shit but we don't do that anymore. We run long developing plays where KB can be a big body for slants/crossers and go one on one on sideline routes for the jumpball stuff
-Red zone option - Duh
I think vs Baltimore you'll see our RBs a hell of a lot more active in the passing game. Against SD (when KB plays) that adds another short game option. I don't think the Chiefs got Benjamin just bc he was available. They got him because he can help the Chiefs make a key late season adjustment. [Reply]
