Retro ending: there was no way for ANYONE to know this at the time but apparently baby Groot said "Dad?" at Rocket as he ahsed (according to the directors.) [Reply]

And there's a Dr. Strange credits scene in Ant Man...
Don't forget the Wasp. That movie may help to answer a few questions. The quantum realm, and some combination of a few other things will probably be used to make things right. A team effort, and a lot of sacrifice. I think that Hulk comes back in a big way, maybe Wong's retreat or whatever's explained, Captain Marvel will probably play a huge role, and possibly the Strange time stone spell that some mentioned. If you could pick a character that Thanos kills for good in the next movie who would it be?
Well, I think it's apparent it's going to be Captain America and/or Iron Man. I think both of those guys' contracts with Marvel are up after the film. I could maybe see Gamora staying dead, or choosing to stay in the Soul Gem to handle Thanos if he ends up in there. [Reply]

Your critique regarding the movie dragging on in the middle is fair. I've seen this four times. I'd say it gets really slow from the time the Guardians go to Knowhere to when Thanos fights to get the Time Stone on Titan.
As for the heroes dying and how they die, it doesn't make sense for them to kill any of the heroes for good, yet. This is a 2 part movie and some of the heroes that died (Starlord,Spider-Man) have upcoming movies. How they died allows for the possibility(and strong likelihood) that they return. They still went as full out as they possibly could given the circumstances, unlike what DC did at the end of BvS with Superman.
It's entirely possible that none of the heroes die due to them potentially dying in Avengers 4. And you will likely get your wish regarding someone of significant stature in the MCU permadying(ie:Captain America) in the next film.
It doesn't make sense for them to kill off any of the original heroes for good in the first part of a two part film. If they don't kill off anyone for good in the next one, then you might be more justified in your complaints.
At least kill off Romanov. She had no business holding up in the fight in Wakanda. And since they're bringing back the characters that were killed off, why not kill off a main character to add to the stakes of the next movie? They're going to be back anyway.
And a question I have...why didn't Dr strange just keep turning back time when him, iron Man, and Spiderman were fighting Thanos? Anytime Thanos gets the upper hand, just move back time a few minutes and try something else. Posted via Mobile Device [Reply]

Because, my guess is, all of the original Avengers in one way or another make some sort of sacrifice in the next film, die, or something to that effect as a passing of the torch. It wouldn't make sense to kill one of them without killing all of them.

That's a fair question and one I don't have an answer to.
My response would be that it wouldn't make it as entertaining of a movie and defeats the purpose of making the storyline in Infinity War/Avengers 4 a 2 part movie. [Reply]
Alright, let's talk Avengers 4 spoilers. These are from the set photos, but give a pretty solid idea about what they're doing immediately after IW.
Spoiler!
The straight and short of it, as many of us guessed, is time travel/alternate reality. However, what's interesting is that they've devoted weeks to what looks like a complete set re-creation of the battle in New York City in Avengers 1. Cap has his Avengers 1 costume, Thor has his Avengers 1 costume and hair - and the actors for Iron Man, Thor, Cap, Ant Man, Loki (with AV 1 hair) and Quicksilver have all been spotted on set. It certainly looks like an alternative reality twist on the fight, and it makes you wonder if we're somehow brought back there after events from Ant Man and the Wasp (Eva Lilly has a haircut that may suggest this). With the events of IW, I wouldn't be surprised if this event happens early in Avengers 4.
I've attached a couple of links with the set pictures, there are tons of pictures out there - so it's pretty certain that this is a good read on where they might go after IW.

With Ant Man and the Wasp coming at the time it is, I think it's gonna have something to do with the quantum realm. I just can't figure they go back and render some of the old movies useless with alternate reality etc.
I think we pretty much know the plot for A4 at this point but one specific would need to be addressed:
Spoiler!
-if they do go back in time with Ant Man in the Quantam Realm and manage to get infinity stones in the past, would they disappear from Thanos’ gauntlet in the current time?
That would be interesting. They could use Stark/Shuri to make their own gauntlet, use Ant Man to go back in time to the battle in NY, get the time stone from Dr. Strange and space stone from the Tesseract. They could also go back to the Civil War movie timeframe and have Shuri remove the mind stone from Vision. Then they could use the space stone to work with Rocket to travel trough space and get the reality and power stones (from Guardians of the Galaxy).
I would really like to see Stark make it out of this movie and be in the next phase. It would be perfect if he was in more of a Nick Fury type of role.

Yeah, unless they're gonna introduce Adam Warlock into it, it's gotta be Antman. I just don't think laying waste to all the previous movie plots is a good idea. Maybe I'm way off base here.
