Well Chiefs vs Packers is what I had hoped for, but that's not happening.

Let's talk about Chiefs vs 49ers here.

I guess but you would think they would learn not to bet against Reid vs the division.

If "ifs" and "buts" were candies and nuts we'd all have a merry Christmas.

The 49ers set the record a year or two ago with like 5 straight losses by 3 points or less. We weren't good enough to be a playoff team. Being close doesn't count.

That is the thing I don't get with Seattle. Carroll gives Wilson a crappy OL and no weapons, but Carroll also gives him a very questionable defense as well. If you're not going to give him OL/WR worth a damn and you also have a lousy defense, where is the money being spent? Wilson's salary is $35M and the cap is $190M. Where is all the other money going if the rest of the team is pure shit? Carroll is mismanaging it IMHO.

I enjoy bagging on the Chargers, but they only lost something like one or two games by more than a TD this season, I think. Hell, they played us fairly competitively both times. Didn't just fold like DEN or OAK. And they had the 10th best offense this season. They weren't push-overs.

Everyone is quick with excuses for why Wilson takes so many drive-killing sacks.

It is not like Mahomes has had an All-Pro Oline. Cam Erving about broke his ankle. The Chiefs Oline has been in constant flux since he became the starter.

But those close losses were evidence that you had solid talent on your roster and guess what, that talent is now in a Super Bowl only a year after having a "bad" season.

Eh, DK Metcalf and Lockett are the weapons. They just have no stable OL.

I could probably change your channel over to the Pacers/Jazz game and you wouldn't even know the difference.
What do you not get about the fact that they lost a lot of close games?

They lost 9 games by 7 points or less. If they even win 4 of those, they’re 9-7 and in the playoffs.

I have no idea. Dead money, maybe? They also had a crap ton of injuries, I think. They had 3 RBs on the roster in week 1. Everyone of them was on IR by week 7 or something? Lost a couple starters on defense to injury as well, IIRC.

But not having an OL year after year (has it been 3+ years now?) is inexcusable. They're trying to get Wilson killed, IMO. Maybe they have a clause in his contract that if he dies on the field they don't have to pay him?

We aren't the same team as we were 2 years ago. Team has changed a lot in that time. Maybe the Chargers can make the playoffs next year or the year after if they make some signings and draft well, but this year they were a 5-11 team. They finished last in a division that only had 1 team above .500.

Looking at overthecap the Seahawks will have almost $60 million in cap space but over 30 free agents.

I’m also guessing that with the Titans being a running team like them that they just assume they are tougher to stop than the Chiefs would have been because Mahomes is a lot of scheme to them that mostly benefits from play calling.

What’s really funny from almost all fans was that the Titans had a good defense to slow down the Chiefs because they beat the Ravens and Patriots but once they started getting torched the narrative changed to the Titans defense sucks, not the Chiefs offense is just too good.
Let 'em think what they want. It won't matter. They'll see for themselves.

You guys...this is what it was like for the Patriots fans for 15 years. And the Colts fans for 15 or whatever. Welcome to our new existence!

And these Titans and Niners fans are just like we were, for 40 plus ****ing years.

When you don't have THE guy, you make a bunch of statistical comparisons, and you squint real hard at THE guy to try to find flaws, some way you can win. You talk about your defense, and you talk about your amazing running back, and how your middle of the road QB is actually quite underrated, and your schedule, and how much heart you have.

And the reality is the only way we lose the Super Bowl is if we monkey-**** it away.

And deep down, they know it. And if they don't, they should. They watched Montana and Young. And then a bunch of lesser-thans. They should know what greatness is, and what it isn't.

So you're saying they are 4 wins away from being in the playoffs?

:-) FFS.

Well, at least in Clark's defense, it is a fact that the Chargers posted the same 12-4 record that we did in 2018. And he said that stuff before their RB decided to hold out like a moron. And Clark can't just say, "the Chiefs are winning division because Mahomes." He has to fill the 45 seconds or so that they give him for that segment.
