It gets better. That's the first epilogue. There are 2. I thoroughly enjoyed the game. I did most of the side missions. I bagged a few legendary animals. Never messed with the poker, though. The ending of the regular game made me sad....very sad. [Reply]

Yeah. The nun in the train station hit pretty hard in the feels. That song as Arthur rides back to camp for the last time wasn't quite as bad but still struck a nerve. [Reply]

I musta missed the Nun at the train station quest. The last 30-60 min of gameplay before "the moment" was fantastic. Hit the feels well, but nothing tops John Marston at the end of RDR 1. [Reply]

If I'm right, it depends on your honor. It happens during the mission where you save Captain Monroe. Pretty sure it was a story mission.
Heres the scene. Title spoils the meat and potatoes so try not to read it, I guess.

Bummed i missed it. There must've been some pre-req quests because my encounter with Monroe did not end that way.
Also learned last night that you can avoid getting TB....kinda wish i woulda known that. Playing half the game with TB was like playing with a dark cloud over your head.
But i guess that adds to the emotional depth of the game. [Reply]

No you can't. That is a story mission and even if you don't beat the guy he still coughs on you in a cutscene. [Reply]
Finished the main chapters on Monday. Wow. Such a great ending. Very sad.
Started the first epilogue but I had already logged like ten fucking hours that day lol.
I finished the “moment” etc, and I thought for sure that was the end of the game. But I’m at like 75% with the two epilogues to go apparently .
Such a great ending IMO. My wife was crying lol. She had watched me play off and on, and knew the gist of the characters etc.
though, admittedly, I did get a little choked up
Spoiler!
When Arthur s horse goes down, and it’s sitting there suffering a bit, and Arthur thanks him. I had used the same horse through the. Entire game
