The one thing I can't figure out is how all these teams go to a) no fans, b) sequestered players and support people, but then c) just think it can be business as usual with the locker rooms. Everyone knows that anything that gets into a locker room quickly explodes to a ton of players.
They really need to start thinking outside the box more. If you can just set up stalls and showers outside. If it's baseball - can't you just take your stuff home in a big bag and shower at home like little leaguers do? It's not like football or basketball where you're drenched to the bone in sweat.
Locker rooms are up there with bars and cruise ships imo - virus disasters waiting to happen. [Reply]
This is depressing with all these positive cases with players that were announced today. We aren't going to fucking have sports this year god dammit. [Reply]
News at Clemson: School announces that 28 athletes have tested positive for COVID-19. They didn't not break it down by sport, but a significant number of the 28 positive tests are football players. More at @YahooSports: https://t.co/euLeyDIKUe
Geezzzz every sport, all over the US athletes are testing positive.
All is not well. Maybe we should take this more seriously and quit behaving like it’s behind us already for chrissakes. I want to see another SB win. [Reply]

Tony Fauci has nothing to do with NFL Football. They are planning a very safe and controlled opening. However, if they don’t stand for our National Anthem and our Great American Flag, I won’t be watching!!!

Source: with 3 camps having to close today due to COVID-19, MLB is strongly considering closing all 30 camps again to cleanse and re-establish a system in which players will test regularly when they return. Right now there is not a firm protocol for players using the facilities.
I don't know how major that is. I haven't read every post so maybe I missed it. I don't think anyone thinks young healthy athletes are the highest risk. It's the coaches and trainers and other staff that you should be more worried about.
The biggest question is how do you operate a functioning sports league if large chunks of players have to miss time. You do basically have to test everyone before every single game. [Reply]
Major League Baseball will close all spring training sites in Arizona and Florida for deep cleaning and will not permit players or staff members until they pass a COVID-19 test.
