Post here. Pertinent free agent signings can still have their own thread. Anyone who replies with a Q, because something is buried in this thread should blah blah AIDS tree. [Reply]
It's probably to the point where we're going to have to deal with weaknesses at certain positions and count on our strengths to overcome. When you have 2 corners under contract, issues on the interior OL, depth and injury concerns at RB, and improvement needed at linebacker it's simply too much to address with few draft picks and no cap room. Hopefully we can adequately address at least 2 of those spots with our draft picks and hope vet minimum types can fill the rest. It's possible but I don't see us having the depth next year to deal with as many injuries as we had in 2019, so hopefully we have more luck on that front. [Reply]
The #Rams are giving LT Andrew Whitworth a 3-year deal worth $30M, source said. He can get up to $37.5M — $12.5M fully guaranteed. It's the highest paying contract signed by 35+ year old non-QB in NFL history.
Good for them, get him back in a familiar system and they’ll be glad to have him... if Nagy is smart there will be no competition, just call him your starter and get the team bought in on him [Reply]

Was basically thinking the same thing. Foles will give them some consistency and stability. Plus, he's a pretty good short- to intermediate range passer. I don't think Trubisky wins a competition with Foles anyway, so that's a moot point, IMO. But Trubisky can finally have a chance to see what the offense is supposed to look like as the back-up, and maybe start trending in the right direction.
Or the Bears go after another QB in the draft this year or next, and Foles is their mentor. Win-win for the Bears. [Reply]
Sources say Jadeveon Clowney wants about $20mill per year. Interested teams aren’t coming up that high as of now. Look at the players in his position who were tagged, Judon, Dupree, Barrett, Yannick. Teams don’t want to pay $5mill more than the franchise tag.

I doubt they look at another QB this year, but maybe next year if Trubisky doesn’t handle his demotion well
But yes, I agree with you... Nick knows what Nagy is looking for, and his resume will help the team rally around him [Reply]
