Which raises the possibility that theres more to the story than just the kneeling [Reply]

Jets would qualify picking at 7 last year too. They just traded three 2nd rounders to get up to possiblly the 3rd best QB in this draft. Could of had Mahomes at 7 last year, and kept their three 2nds. [Reply]

From what I’ve read it sounds like Reid and Boston were expecting 7-9MM a year and are holding out in the hopes of something better than the current offers proposed (closer to vet minimum according to Boston). [Reply]

Maybe he's just unwilling to lower his asking price. [Reply]

If the league contrives to freeze out Reid then it's gonna open up a whole can of worms and make Kaps case against the owners much stronger than it could ever be. [Reply]

?
And then what? A judge will force a team to sign one of these malcontents?
Not going to happen. The anthem protestors painted themselves into a corner here. [Reply]

How so? They never broke any NFL rules so how can the owners then justify freezing out players? [Reply]

You can cite injury history, scheme fit, contract term, amount, age, anything you want and that would be the prerogatives of a franchise.
FREE AGENCY. It doesn’t always benefit the players.
Erm because Kap and Eric were the first two to protest police brutality on the field? But oh yes, it would no doubt just be a "coincidence" that both would be out of the league at the same time!! :-) . [Reply]

The Bears wouldn’t have had trade up last year either. [Reply]

Reid played all last season. Kaepernick did not. So there’s that. [Reply]
