2017 impact: The Raiders won 12 games but outscored their opponents by only 31 points, producing a Pythagorean expectation of 8.7 wins. That gap -- 3.3 wins -- is the fourth-largest since 1989. They're likely to decline.

Not to mention they brought in Cordelle Patterson who is 2nd in the NFL record books on return yardage after Jim Brown-
They got the best Defensive player in the league and getting back a healthy MEJ- They drafted well on defense.... This is a whole new Raiders team with more firepower on offense- Any team is gonna have to score 30 points to beat that team- Cause their gonna be the 99' Rams on offense this year-
Don't let ONE winning season in the last decade fool you. The Raiders were really an 8-9 win team last year. They were literally given two wins (Saints / Texans) and needed LOTS of help with 3 more. When one considers that as the basis for their prediction, as is the case with this ESPN take, it's not too far fetched to think that they could decline this season. [Reply]

Right now Carr isn't a playmaker against us and hasn't been except one time when our our best DB had cancer.
They also aren't playing a last place schedule.
Carr's pocket presence is still below average bc he hasn't had a real coach to help him. It's clear in the tape [Reply]

Whatever. We better hope and pray that Mahomes gets to even 80% of Carr's current level. [Reply]
The Raiders are overrated. They have the best pass blocking offensive line in the league, and with that it's hard not to be pretty good, but their terrible pass D tries to negate that. [Reply]
Raiders are 2-3 years ahead of the Chiefs- This is the Chiefs last try to manage even a little glimmer of hope to make it to the championship game and we all know that's just not gonna happen with Alex Smith- It's gonna be a mess in KC- Somewhere around week 13, when the Chiefs are probably sitting at 6-7 that the Mahome chants start raining down in that stadium- Smith knows this is his last year, the fans hate him and his team mates have lost any confidence in the dude- I could see Reid giving the green light to Mahomes once the Chiefs are officially eliminated from the playoffs to let him finish out the last couple games of the year- Mahomes will have a avg rookie season next year just like every other rookie QB goes through their rookie year- average at best- his 2nd year is when the Chiefs hope that they start to see some signs of life for the two 1st rd picks they gave up for him.
And if anybody here thinks Mahomes is gonna have a Dak Prescott rookie year you're insane- they don't have the OL, RB nor WR's the Cowboys have
So in 3 years Berry will have retired and Parker will be 33 and Marcus Peters will be holding out in hopes of playing for his childhood fav team the Raiders after watching them from the couch the last 2 years pushing for a SB
Raiders issues on defense have been addressed- they drafted two pro bowl potential players in Gareon Conley and Obi Melifonwu and have last years 1st rd pick Karl Joseph- Raiders secondary will be young and 2-3 year vet players- Raider are getting back Mario Edwards Jr, drafted Eddie Vanderdoes from UCLA- Mack, Carr, Cooper etc all will be hitting their prime by the time Mahomes starts coming into his own-
Nobody cares about last year- Only losers do- What's important is whats in front of us- And right now, the Raiders are 2-3 years ahead of the Chiefs...
The Chiefs and Raiders are not winning the SB this year.. But the Raiders have the better chance starting in 2018 [Reply]

Actually the Chiefs are ahead of the Raiders in the process. The Chiefs though have plateaued. They have actually done a good job of manufacturing points on D/ST but its still not enough to get over the hump. A reliable consistent running game would relieve some of the pressure on D/ST having to score points. The offense just isnt a championship offense. It just isnt and they know it.
The Raiders are not far behind the Chiefs but their D sucks and until they fix that they wont be advancing anywhere either. [Reply]
