Not sure this deserves it's own thread, but damn, there is a lot of outstanding content on Amazon. I've had it for years and never really gave it a shot. The HBO and Funny or Die catalogues alone make it worth the while. The originals are simply value added. I've been watching:
Curb Your Enthusiasm
Eastbound and Down
Zach Morris is Trash
Things in my queue:
Man in the High Castle
The Tick
Sneaky Pete
Jack Ryan
Would like to re-watch:
Sopranos
Between Two Ferns
Justified
Parks and Rec
Anything you'd recommend from Prime Video? I feel like a kid in a candy shop (without the requisite time to actually enjoy all the candy...) [Reply]

What I'm most looking forward to is Nicholas Winding Refn's Too Old to Die Young show. It will capture the criminal underworld of Los Angeles and I saw some brief clips of it and it looks interesting for sure.
For those that do not know who Refn is , he directed Drive, Bronson and a bunch of other weird /entertaining films
Apparently Amazon let Refn go wild on this one. The episodes will be roughly an hour to an hour & a half . Pretty risky imo as Refs is not everyone's cup of tea. We shall see
they are spending $2 BILLION to bring LOTR to prime for 5 TV seasons. [Reply]

It won a couple of awards at Cannes and it's very spooky-ass.
Finally got around to watching Goliath. Damn good show. Season 3 is coming sometime soon.
Looks like Jack Ryan and Bosch both got renewed for two seasons, so they'll both be around at least through 2020.
Sneaky Pete has a 3rd season sometime this year.
Man in the High Castle ends after its next season.
A new series called Hanna starts tomorrow, evidently a bit different than the movie of the same name. Reviews don't look good but I'm gonna check it out anyway. [Reply]

The speculation is that they will focus on the 2nd Age and that each season might focus on a different time frame within that Age. This could work because principle characters such as Sauron, Galadriel, and Elrond are basically ageless and can provide continuity while keeping the seasons fresh with new characters.
Second Age Highlights:
Rise and Fall of Sauron
Rise and Fall of Numenor
Rise and Fall of Moria
The Forging of the Rings of Power
War of Elves and Sauron
Creation of the Ringwraiths
Founding of Gondor and Arnor
The Last Alliance of Elves and Men [Reply]
